Hello everyone i would like to ask why Passive Mobs (Pigs,Cows,Sheep ect.) Arn't Spawning. The new 1.8.2 Patch just came out and i think its the patch, But i need help on how to get Passive Mobs to spawn again.
The first few days of playing the update, I could not find a single sheep. But today for some reason they are starting to spawn finally. I've been able to shear about a dozen sheep so far today. I kill them after shearing so they can respawn. Starting to see more cows and pigs too.
ah, good point lol, and cobwebs in mineshafts. spiders are 500x more of a hassle than sheep though haha since they attack back and and arent even guaranteed to drop string, which you need 4 of just to make 1 block.
I got lucky and found a spider spawner very quickly after making my first 1.8.2 world .
I made a gravity trap to gather all of the string . Not working too great though it seems they fall so far down that the items are despawning and I have to go gather the string quickly or it will disappear .
As for the cows and stuff I just eat bread . And feed my wolves rotten flesh .
They respawn. You have to get rid of your tall grass. When I first started my map I found a village and then made it my home. At the time I had NO animals at all, but tons of tall grass. I got rid of all of the tall grass and now I have chickens, sheep, cows, and no wolves since its not the right biome for wolves apparently. I have even found the very rare brown sheep (no pink sheep thoug). All you do is shear the sheep and then kill it. You need to have a large area without tall grass though. That tall grass is the real problem unless you are in an area with tons of trees then you will find a lot of wolves and very few other animals.

Lol, I started a harcore survival on a map that is 95% water and was running across the no wool for a bed problem. Was just doing without until a buddy reminded me of this. One of those head slapper moments, especially since I had dozens of string at the time.

Thank you
think he means mobile versions
cant make a bed without sheep
Yep. The sheep I'm killing seem to be respawning in the same locations too. So I kind of know where to go for wool now.

3 pigs
4 cows
2 sheep
0 chicken
300 wolves
Anyone feel the same way?
Clearing tall grass does help, yes.
