now that mobs are rare and persistant, keeping sheep in one place makes alot of sense....but it appears that fishing rods hurt them..... so dragging them across world doesnt make sense....and isnt that effective....
Lols. No sheep for you!!! Herding them is useless as they will not grow back wool and will not breed. Give up and eat mushrooms. Maybe in the next update you can try again to get some wool.

I'm not sure if this will work as my controller broke so I have not tryed this but it is worth a go ok so
Step 1: Harvest some wheat
Step 2: Find a sheep or some sheep and try to make them follow you
Step 3: If they are following you lead them into your paddock

Wool regrowth was not added until a later update for the PC.
Not a big deal, just go kill some spiders and have your wool.
Ok great but, why Not? It literally does seem like its to annoy us... How complicated could it be to have sheep revert to their original selfs after a set amount of time after being sheared?

Just a whole lot of extra coding and waiting for the update to come out. They did it for good reason, more stuff to port from Java to C++ is A LOT of work. (I believe it is Java to C++, do not quote my noob self!!)
Personally, I believe 4J chose what they chose for good reason, to get the update out with some massive changes. All this extra stuff people are wanting can easily be added in later updates as per what 4J has stated.
I am hoping for a smaller update in between 1.8.2 and 1.2.3, that way we get enchanting, breeding and xp stuff before the END and everything else major is added.
All you have to do is set up base on a large area of dirt cleared of all tall grass and kill every animal that comes across it including sheep that have been sheared. I had a lot of problems with getting sheep, but I now have a fair amount of white wool and little brown, black, and other colors. Its a pain, but thats what you have to do. I have a town like that now and I have a few chickens stuck in a fence area and just kill all other animals that I see.
any suggestions?
