Found my first abandoned mineshaft in survival mode, and got pumpkin and melon seeds. when i grew the melons, i found that i couldn't eat the slices. is this not in yet, or is this a bug?
Make sure you're not on Creative. If your Hunger bar is full you will no longer need to eat even if you're missing some hearts. Keeping your hunger bar at a good level will regenerate your hearts for you.
