My project has been ruined. Thanks to void fog. But, it promotes something new. Maybe 6 months of time building a 100x100x10 city at bedrock wasn't a waste?
That's right. I will be making, a maze.
I have already destroyed all buildings and working on getting rid of grass. In this city of loss, you wander a endless maze to get from the start to the center. No gamertags, void fog, no light source, twists and turns. Anyone who can defeat this maze (you will get to save your position if you have to leave) Will be so legendary, I have no idea how to award you within minecraft.
I will gladly accept help, but i'm not on a huge look out so this shouldn't be moved to the find players section.
Just wanted to get the word out. Lemme know what you think.
Maybe I'll add pressure plates and pistons so that the paths are changing. Each turn you make. xD

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
Someone that is actually being constructive about Void fog instead of endlessly complaining about it. I may have to pinch myself just to make sure.... Yup, I'm awake.
Sounds like a good idea. I was thinking of doing something similar with Void Fog.

I love void fog, it adds more scariness and more building affects. Personally I believe they should add an option to turn on/off though. But in creative void fog is just a bunch of black dots in the air, you can still see perfectly.

I was about to comment on to what i thought another gammer rage from the void fog. I think an option button would be nice for the people who lost their builds to the fog. I'd love to try out your maze. GT at the left.

Aww, you destroyed the buildings? But it's nice that you making use of void fog though. Some people are asking to make void fog optional, so your city of amber/loss can be activated with a flick of a switch.
What level does void fog stop at?
Just I wanted to make a temple (like in Alien Vs Predator movie...I know, that film sucks) underground
it starts at y=28.
However, the impact grows according to a curve. Ergo, it doesn't start to get really bad until you get down to about y=16 and lower. At y=5 or so, you can only see 10 blocks give or take.
It's not a very good graph (because it has no labels) but this graph sort of shows view distance for each y
So, at Y:3, the fog is 39 thicks and my viewing distance is only 3 Steves? D=
Exactly! [/snark]
(BTW- this is why I argue everyone should be forced to take a theory of knowledge/elementary stats class in college - so that, when they try to make graphs. they'll know how to actually communicate what they're trying to show....)
Man, All this talk of worlds and creations being ruined has me scared. I have yet to open my Infinity Ward Building world. I am too scared that months and months of work is gone! I have to open it though to finish recording it. I think I will take the plunge tonight...... wish me luck!

Heh - And I used to be the one saying "Really? You're playing NerdCraft??"
Thanks for the compliments guys,
help would be nice now. After I destroy a few more grass blocks I need to destroy all bedrock below the floor, (this will make ceiling even higher) The bottom bedrock level won't be broke though because you can't break it

This does raise a question in my mind. Does your seed impact how "jaggy" your bedrock is? I cleared several massive areas down at bedrock and it has always seemed as if the bedrock was no more than 2 blocks thick. I have never found sections where I could get into bedrock above my eye-level (as I've seen in other photos related to void fog).
When standing on the bottom bedrock, it says level 2 because level 1 is an special airblock and level 0 and less is void.
I have found a void hole, and you can't even fall through it anymore!
In the old version, if you find a void hole, you can fall through and eventually freeze your xbox. But now, you just stand on it

I know, but Bedrock is also supposed to reach up to y=5 or something like that, and I've never seen it. I'm just wondering how much impact seeds actually have on worlds.
I'll give you another example. My sister and I have separate worlds that we both have fully-explored. She kept claiming that her world didn't have nearly as many caves as mine and that those she did find were substantially smaller. I always presumed she was just not finding them, so I showed her how to do the TNT xray glitch. We built a machine in her world and, low-and-behold we found she really ddin't have many caves. On a lark, I went back to my world and built the xray machine and my world looks like swiss cheese! I thought I had found all the caves around my base and I saw I wasn't even close!.

I dont see what it has to do with bedrock at all.
I barely found any caves while building this, but lava was everywhere
