Three for three I love the void fog. Adds a nice haunting feeling the farther you go down. And yeah slimes spawn in the void, found one in a ravine once.
It's a black mist that gets more intense to you as you get close to bedrock level. Torches and other lighting will not affect it. I'll get a picture.

But it sucks that you can'tactually break into the void.
There is absolutely no reason to go to the Void. You can't build there and you die instantly when you enter it.
I for one love the fog. It makes it tougher and tougher the more you go down. Since the more valuable materials are down there, it makes some extra risk.

Great for giant bedrock mazes too! xD Thats my new project , I converted my old City of Amber one into a giant maze. Gotta make the maze yet though

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... 1.) Will slimes still spawn in the void?
2.) Does it count as dark that monsters can spawn in?
Other thank that i think the fog is cool. Makes mining more interesting
Basically, if that area is totally lit up, even in the void fog, it shouldn't spawn any aggressive mobs.
And finally, someone who agrees with me on the Void Fog.
