i find it interesting that i haven't seen any sheep in my new generated world. neither chickens or cows an i rarely see pigs too. is anybody having the same problem as me ??? do i need to re download the game or something. plz !help!
Its because animals dont despawn now, so they are more than likely lurking around. because they can spawn upto 128 blocks away from you, thats alot of ground to cover. (more than likely the problem)
I have the same problem... I have walked my whole world several times and have found only 2 pigs a few cows and no sheep or chickens... I have played for hours now... and since they don't respawn I didn't know if you can run out or what. I can't lock them in a pen like it says you can if I can't find any.
Dig a long trench in the ground and line the inside of it with fence, make sure to put the fence right along the inside block. that way animals can fall in, but they can't get out. go do some mining or building somewhere...then after a while go back and take a hike down your trench.
I'm sure you find critters trying to get out. Tame all the wolves you find and stick them in a building somewhere so they don't kill your sheep.

ok i will start in creative an check around the world to see if i can find a single animal
When I first created my world last night, there was a small amount of pigs, cows, sheep, and chickens. When I got back on my world this afternoon, more animals had spawned around my house.
Like people said above, remove tall grass because mobs cannot spawn on a block that has tall grass on it. Also remove wolves because they will kill any sheep they get near and they count towards the max limit of passive mobs.

Mmmh Will try but even if that fixes the problem then that means there is a bug in the game if i compare the xbox grass whit the pc grass the theres a huge problem whit grass generation
I'm not sure what the actual mechanics are, but animals that die should NOT stay dead if there's no breeding mechanism. If this is the case, then that's pretty bad planning on the devs part.

They don't stay dead. Animals still respawn. It just takes them a lot longer to do so.

Not really. Grass generation in Plains biomes looks the same as it was during the PC 1.8. It has been toned down since then on he PC, but at this point, it looks the same.
Forests, Taigas, Tundras, and Extreme Hills biomes have much less grass than Plains.

Lucky that chickens can come from eggs.
Not a bug, read the forums, there's a huge post covering this issue right now. You need to cut down tall grass and kill any wolves in the area.
Yes, and as said before, they don't despawn. This means that once they spawn, they will stay til killed. This makes them hard to find.
thats the thing i don't think there spawning at all i have only seen chickens
