So like some other people my world was hit with snow in the new update so I started a new world and so far love it but I want to know before I put a lot of work into it if the biome weather will change again once the next big update comes out so I can put up a massive glass roof before it happens.
They have planed two more updates, the next is still not known but the second should be equivalent to 1.2.3. By the time that releases the biome generation should be changed due to jungle biomes.
MG would be the one to ask about this. That being said, I dont recall any of the PC players mentioning this sort of shift happening again.
The reason everyone is seeing snow where they saw none before (which BTW - did not happen in my world at. all. I have a small area freezing over, but no massive change) is because a couple of the old biomes were overwritten with new code to make the transitions between biomes (a little) more intelligent. Since they are only appending new biomes to the "end of the list" rather than re-sorting it (as 1.8 did) there shouldn't be the catastrophic change like everyone is seeing now.
