So I never played Minecraft before Xbox which means I don't really have that much experience with Redstone. I've messed around a little with it but I'm sure there is a lot I don't know and can learn. So if anyone is willing to teach or show me somethings that'd be awesome.
Like basic redstone projects?
Only person i know who knows alot about redstone is
nose_job_for_a_cowboy
Not sure if he will help you.
But he knows alot...

Yeah pretty mush just some basic tips I'm looking for. I haven't started any new projects yet but with the update just dropping yesterday I want to work on a new world.

Wish i could help. I'm new to redstone as much as you are .
I've made piston doors and traps but I'm not the type to make my own redstone creation
Where you go from there is up to you. The possibilities of redstone engineering are literally endless. In my opinion, it's the most "free" realm of building in Minecraft.
EDIT: Btw, if you're actually trying to learn, avoid tutorials and prepare for some headaches and ragequits. Redstone is a long, lonesome, irritating road, but the most rewarding imo. After learning the basics, there are a ton of different genres of engineering you can branch into. Electronics is my personal favorite, which has many sub-genres as well. You have computer science, custom redstone games, the more interactive games such as tower defense or mob arenas, then there are more basic things like traps, doors and whatnot.

Great thank you! And I know I've only worked on one huge project that was an underwater bridge. I wanted to scream after I was done. Before that I watched so much on youtube and got nothing out of it. I think I might just create a world just to mess around and test out different things.

My largest redstone project so far weighs in at 159 x 125 x 8. But yeah, that's the problem with YouTube tutorials. They never teach you anything, they just show you where to place blocks. Once you actually understand how redstone tiles work, you can build nearly any electronic mechanism in the world, if you know how it works in real life.
One thing I never (very basic though) was that if a torch receives redstone, it reverses its on/off position. I made a secret entrance that opened like that, with pressure plates and all.

Thanks! Haha I know I've only made a bridge and someone helped me on it because I got stuck after hours of doing it.
