Wow. The possibilities with creative mode and superflat are..well, limitless. The fact that you start at bedrock truly makes it a "clean slate" for whatever anyone can think of.. IMO, Creative+ supeflat can propel this game well beyond anyone's expectations as it opens it up to anyone with a creative urge who didn't want to bother with survival OR having to remove and change a normal map to make whatever they are creating. I can't think of another Xbox360 title that has this level of creative freedom. I am overwhelmed with ideas!
My only gripe so far is that it doesn't seem possible to get standing/ocean water. Would make water placement and usage a hell of a lot easier.
What do you guys think? Ideas for projects? Etc.
Well, I went on to superflat last night just to see what it was all about.
Basically I had a biiig flat world that was almost completely populated with Slimes.
Is it expected on superflat to get some many slimes or did I just stumble on a seed with a ton of Slime Chunks?

Its expected, they recently toned down the spawning of slimes on superflat worlds on PC.
I'm making a small village, enough for three players to live in, and making traps that are random. Maybe like 'free diamonds!'. Something that tricks them. They'll obviously not fall for it, but when they return, it's a pool of lava.

Some ideas I have...
-A massive "asteroid". About 40 or so from bedrock and the sides and top of the map. Perhaps including a mining colony/space station and various other sci-fi elements. This could also be a giant starship as well using iron, diamond, etc. Add a layer of lava to the floor for some added fun.
-Various RPG like maps with very controlled resources, locales, etc.(LOVE how easy it is to switch from creative to survival! AND, with no mining enabled...things could get very fun for any visitors...;))
- "Honey, I shrunk the kid's!" style house. Make a giant house and yard! Kitchen, bathroom, etc!
- Massive full map roller coaster with various themes throughout.
And, on and on...Heh.
I am not too fond of superflat, as that wouldn't get my creative juices flowing... Sure it is a black flat area, but that is my point.
I am one to work with the land in all it's ups downs and turn arounds, so the flat doesn't do it for me... however since breeding is not in that mean i guess creative will be a good substitute until we can actually harvest and farm wool and the other animals... I can already see the possibilities in the random genrations i have...:D
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I believe superflat was mainly meant to be used by pixel artists, air ship builders, redstone engineers, 3D artists, adventure map creators, floating island terraformers, sky-castle builders, etc. or to be used as a test world. Obviously anyone who is building a regular mansion, city, castle, or something is going to want the landscape simply for aesthetics.
If anyone needs some creative inspiration juice for mid-air builds, here are some of my favorites:
