If I wait to go into the Nether until the patch that has the Nether fortress, will it work out?
I dont really have any reason to go into the Nether right now so I dont mind waiting.

Theoretically, it should work. If you haven't been there, then it wouldn't be explored or generated. If it isn't explored or generated, then it should work the same as the Overworld does. New additions should be added to it when the update comes if it's unexplored.
