at the dead ends mine 1 block, theres a chance that theres another way
actually at least on this particular seed... the dead ends wouldn't matter, but that is because they would be nothing but more rock for all the ones i see... Well due to that fact that on the other side of the dead end, on the other side of that wall would be more cavern, ravine or lava lake/pool... or another mineshaft... So far... Just have rotten luck at the moment i guess.. plus right now i am looking at seeds in creative to just find one i like... but the way that specific one is turning out underground i am wondering it i would even be able to branch mine without running into a ravine in a short distance. I have seen 3-4 ravines cross eachother all underground...
above ground the caves are not very long. but underground you have to wonder how the miners actually got down there in the first place. But yeah checking every nook does take a bit out of you and tend to miss a few spots... guess i'll have at it again...lol
