How on earth do we heal ourselves? Obviously food replenishes the health bar now.

Never played the PC version.

Also, I found a good seed with desert, snow, mountains, and a zombie spawner above ground, if anyone's interested.

your hunger bar needs to be filled to receive health only 1/2 heart at a time

food at 8 or higher will slowly fill health.... doesn't have to be full food bar, just at least 8 meat things....

When I eat Rotten Flesh, I stand still so that the food poisoning has no effect. It makes hunger go down 2x faster, but standing still makes it go down 0. 2x0=0.
