I'm just wondering if anyone is encountering this problem, I just got the 1.8.2 update and when I load my world in either creative or Survival, it crashes just after a few seconds. I can't seem to figure out what is causing this issue.
Could it be that I left some areas left unexplored to see if any new terrain would generate and that game freezes after trying generate the new land?
I also noticed that my grass and trees changed color from the nice dark green to light brownish before my world crashes.
I'm starting to think it may be a ram issue. I saved in the middle of my city before the update, the game may be crashing because of it trying to load so much at a time.
Same problem as well. I just loaded up an old world and it froze. I'm gonna test out creating a new world and see if that doesn't work either, like the dude who posted above me.
Wondering if anyone has found a resolution to this problem? - Was playing after the 1.8 update all day 10.17.12, then get home today 10.18.12 and am finding that my old world freezes up a few seconds in.
Guys, I had this issue too with my world, the way I resolved it is as follows:
1. load the world in single player/offline (untick online game)
2. fix all blackchests in your entire world by REMOVING one part or the entire chest, don't just fix it with a block update
3. save
4. load the game normally et viola.

Viola indeed! Thank you!!!!
Okay, that seemed to work the second time my game froze! - Chests AND signs then? Thank you!
