I put torches all around a 16x3x16 room that has been completely cleared out and I cannot see very far ahead of me (looking into pitch blackness) despite there being a torch within a few blocks of me at all times
That isnt a bug, its called void fog.
Void fog was added to the beta 1.8 update so that The Void would appear black instead of sky color. This black fog (with gray particles floating in it) thickens as the player reaches Bedrock levels, regardless of render distance settings. See the graph (right) for the maximum view distance due to the fog.
All layers below Y=28 have some degree of void fog, unless an area is exposed to the sky. Opening up an area to the sky removes void fog in a small area around the opening.
On superflat mode the void fog is removed since you are so close to it that if it were there, you wouldn't be able to see anything at all. This is why on superflat the void looks sky color until you jump in it.
In creative mode there is no void fog at all but for some reason the void still looks dark
1) My super flat world that i was playing on that had no signs still crashed so there is a crash bug not related to signs.
2) Endermen can teleport into peoples homes
3) Slimes are only hit able from a certain angle ant they block doorways
4) I have a world with a village well that generated in the middle of nowhere(another bug), and i walked on this hill it was on easy and midday and i was attacked by something i could not see
5) slimes can see through dirt and grass
6) If you get stuck in a glitched ghast fireball(another bug), you cant place or destroy blocks, you cant hit zombie pigmen but they can hit you, and half the time you cant tell you are in one.
Six bugs that have not been reported
2 is not a bug, Enderman can teleport anywhere and can also move blocks.
3 is not a complete bug, as they are supposed to block doorways and push you around and such. As for only being able to hit it from certain angles, i have noticed this too, mainly on the biggest slimes. Sometimes the only way i am able to kill them is with a Bow And Arrow.
4 is not a bug because villages can spawn anywhere on the top layer of the world, including the edge of the world and above water.
5 is not a bug because slimes were designed to be able to see through all blocks, be it cobblestone, wood, etc...
As I said in my last post, sorry if someone has already said this...
When I place a powered rail on a slope, It doesn't become powered by a torch underneath it, underneath the blocks in front of it or beside it. This happens fairly often but it seems to depend on what block the torch is attached to. I place it flat on the ground sometimes and it doesn't power the rail, but I place it on the side of a block and it powers it, even though where I placed the torch both times it was powering the same block.
I haven't messed with rails since the update, but in 1.7.3, this is what I would do to get powered rails to work.
1. Place redstone torch under block.
2. Place powered rail on top of block.
3. Place normal torch on wall above powered rail, and the lighting update would trigger the powered rail to "know" that it was powered.
4. If desired, remove normal torch.
5. Repeat for each redstone torch you need to place.
Again, I haven't worked with rails since the update, but this workaround worked for me before.
Fence gates will not open/close with a redstone charge (NOT SURE IF THIS IS A BUG).
Doors rarely make sounds when opening and closing them.
Chests are black on my old 1.7 world.
Glass panes and iron bars are hard to place/destroy.
Both passive and aggressive mobs get hurt when the go near blocks.
Thanks for reading my reply and i would be thankfull to anyone who can comfirm the top bug.
The first one should get changed in the next update. I believe 1.0 on the PC is when fence gates were updated to respond to a redstone signal, but I can't be bothered to double check right now. :-P I'll be glad when they do, though, as having to remember to close my fence gates is annoying. :-)
When I started to play minecraft with my girlfriend, when she log in to her account and start a game screen turns dark and can't hear game music at all and she can't turn/look around with her character, like the right stick wont work but with other account minecraft works like it should be, screen is normal and we can hear music and she can turn her character with right stick. These problems comes only with minecraft other games works normally with her account. So these problems comes when she start new/saved minecraft game only with her account and only in minecraft.
Minecraft worked until today it started to do this.
Minecraft has deleted and redownloaded and system cache has been deleted but not working
Is there anything to do?
Have her go into options and reset to defaults. This is an annoying bug that strikes occasionally. What is happening is that the gamma and controller sensitivity get reset to zero for some reason. It's been happening since 1.7.3 if not before, but I don't know if anyone's nailed down the cause yet.

You remember how the update note that said something like '- raised clouds so they dont faze through objects' - Well because 4J studios dont have any intelligence, the lowered world height, instead of raising clouds... (easiest solution)
World height is 128 as it should be.

Im not at any level, why do you ask? I was telling someone else that the darkness isnt a bug its void fog, which gets darker the closer you get to bedrock.
I was playing about two days ago and went to bedrock and it was really dark, the hole is 120x120 and is full of torches but still was dark. I added a picture
I guess it's a glitch, I ended game and restarted and it went back to normal.
Resetting the game settings to defaults has resulted in the "invert look" button becoming checked on the control settings. Shouldn't the default be unchecked?
That i know of, there are two places that i cant enter because my game will freeze. One of the upstairs rooms in my house, and underneath my house. I spent months creating this house. I would greatly appreciate it if this bug could get fixed.
If sprinting and you run into a wall at a certain angle, you will get stuck in the wall and start being injured like if you were trapper under gravel or sand. this normally happens with stone or cobby
When you break paintings while in creative mode, they drop the painting even though you already have one in the inventory. This is an annoyance because when you are looking for a specific painting, your inventory fills up with unneeded paintings. This is also shared with TNT.

I did not say it was a village, I said it was a lone well that generated in the middle of nowhere, with no village around. There is a village on the other side of the world though.
The enderman thing, I still think it is a bug because there should be a minimum space required for endermen to teleport to, which they should make houses too small for them to teleport. Oh, and yes. It is common sense that endermen can move blocks. Almost every enderman I have killed was holding a block. It is kind of a bug where if you kill an enderman that is holding a block, it will not drop that block. The main point of the well bug was not focused on the well. I was just throwing that out there. but the invisible mob that attacked me, Try to explain that?
Oh, and a couple more. I have a pre 1.8 survival world, the same one with the lone well and the invisible mobs and the flowers and grass blocks generating in caves. There is this straight cliff that runs along the length of the world. It was not on the edge of the world, it was in the middle of the world. It probably had something to do with the fact that I did not fully explore my world. One side of the cliff has a village, ocean and swamp biomes, and other 1.8 terrain features, while the previously explored side did not, (obviously)
And i have noticed a lack of passive animals in the last update. Both pictures are from the same world.
Yes that is a swamp tree in the background.

Enderman not dropping the block they are holding when you kill them is normal behavior, on the PC as well. I do agree that this should be changed, however. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.
A for the invisible mob, I haven't a clue, but wells that generate without a village are a normal part of the terrain generation code. They are often referred to as "abandoned wells.
I have read reports from others of invisible chickens, and someone posted about getting killed by a creeper when none were visible, though. Could be related, and definitely sounds like a bug to me.

It is the programmers/developers who get to decide whether it is a "bug" or not. If they accept it as part of the game and it's stable (i.e. happens every time in response to a particular control sequence and doesn't cause crashing, etc.) then it's not a bug; just a feature of the game. You may not like that feature; but then again, you're not the one creating the "ideas" that get programmed into the game.
When 4JSteve last queried about the "invisible chicken" bug, he indicated that to that point they had been unable to duplicate it happening in their tests. Some "bugs" are hard to replicate... and it's difficult to fix what you can't replicate. So, I know they've been looking into it; but I don't know that they've been able to find and fix it yet.
Sometimes, when you break blocks that are pressed up against you, they break for a split second and reappear. This bug sucks when you are trapped in a water filled room and are drowning and breaking the block is the only hope for survival.

This has been known to happen from day one on the XBox. 4J have stated that it is most likely "lag" related. Lag may be caused by various factors, including your XBox and/or controller wearing out, your internet connection (signal strength, bandwidth, speed), and the Xbox trying to process a large amount of data at once (e.g. playing in splitscreen mode). Even though the XBox has 3 processors, the RAM is very limited; and it an ongoing issue with trying to "squeeze" all of this complex game onto that system. It is not likely to be a coding bug that can be just fixed that easily.

Fence Gates making a double sound when you open/close them with an item in your hand.
When nothing's in your hand, it works fine.
