While playing in two player splitscreen last night, i, player one, went to the nether. My son, player 2, stayed in the overworld (for lack of a better term). When i crossed into the nether, everything in the overworld suddenly changed as if it were now night. Except it wasn't, according to the clock in game and the sun was still in the sky. This seed is an 1.8.2 seed and i had played on it in 2/3/4 player splitscreen already. My son says the change in lighting is not supposed to happen as it doesn't happen on the PC. Screenshots are in the spoiler below. Is this a bug?

~My problem is a simple one: I'm severely allergic to stupid.~
Just about everything that moves in my world is flashing. Mined blocks waiting to be picked up, monsters, animals, minecarts... And the problem seems widespread, but not 100%. Two wolves right next to each other may not both experience the problem. However, the problem does seem to affect the majority of the above listed items.
This only seems to happen on one world (created after the 1.8.2 equivelant update). Re-downloading the game and update had no effect toward fixing the issue.
I've also experienced the "No Sprinting in Creative Mode" bug.
I think the problem is that the game saves the data relating to your low (no sprinting) hunger level, but doesn't disregard it when modes are switched.
This was very frustrating, but has an easy fix, so no biggie as far as I'm concerned.
Red flowers (roses) can no longer be found in worlds that were generated after 1.8.2...
If you use bonemeal on grass blocks (dirt blocks with the green at the top), it instantly grows long grass, yellow flowers, and, sometimes, red flowers. I don't know if the complete lack of red flowers was intentional, but at least we have a way around this issue right now. Good luck!

Don't know if this one is mentioned either, but in creative certain blocks give you the item you are breaking. I don't know if that is intended or not. However to me it seems like it is not, since every other block you break doesn't give you that block. Mainly it is with doors. Although I have had it happen to me with a few other items.
And no I am not breaking the block below the door it is the door itself, which is confusing. Thank you for your time.:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

Yeah that does happen when you break the top half of a door. It happens with other items too, usually ones which aren't in a full "Block" shape, Doors, Pistons, Etc.
I have experienced most of the glitches listed above and also the following ones:
Invisible hostile mobs (all of them)
non flowing hovering blocks of water
fall damage when deactivating fly using host options (dubble tap A not in options)
Blocks that become unbreakable until I reboot my game.
Unable to poor lava into a hole not near spawn but it gives that reason (I have tested the areas affected by removing my bed and dying it was more than 200 meters away)
Lag, lag, lag, lag. Lag keeps killing me and allowing me to be killed by mobs I have outran. (Suggestion: Allow the player to downgrade as many graphics options as possible to allow less lag)
Sprinting causes me to enter walls killing me, or damaging me.
crafting and pack item box menus are all way to small on split screen and it gives me a headache
xbox and minecraft freezes makes me have to reboot my xbox
there are more and when I remember them I will post for you thanks. Love the game anyway.
Last block mined with a pick-axe is destroyed
lag causes me to walk into blocks in another players world and die.
re: black chests, these were removed as I mentioned before and no matter what was done most of the problem seem to go away and some part would always remain.
that part meaning I could not play alone online, I could only play with others online with my save or offline.
So after using the Xray glitch and searching the area I found something very interesting.
At first I thought they were chests, they weren't they seem to be phantom's under the ground so while I watched and directed another person to the location when they got there the were nothing other then smooth stone and when replace with new smooth stone the black phantom's went away.
the same with the surface areas looking up just a few blocks away from the other chests remove the blocks and replace them and the phantoms were gone.
I can make a video of the and show you to prove this. As i did not save the world this is in the very same area were the lock up is taking place.
the are perfectly lined up like my chests were and I removed them rather then replace most of them
A video would be helpful - pre 1.8.2 I noticed a few strange one-block "phantoms" while teaching my sister the xray glitch. However, they appeared to be on fire and I presumed they were single blocks of lava source. Now, I wonder...
here is a view of all the neat ordered phantom blocks residing in the the lock up zone and they appear just in this area and you can see from the two scans.
you can also see the boat appears as a black phantom as well along with part of the dock...
ok so here is were the phantom block is a few blocks away from the chest and you see it locked up with in the zone.
- Host causes shadows in other players' environments, when he is in the nether and the other players are in the regular world, and the other way around.
This is on the list of fixes in the upcoming bugfix update.

“We do not quit playing because we grow old; we grow old because we quit playing.”- Oliver Wendell Holmes
My use of the term "invisible chicken" bug was only because it was first noticed when chickens had disappeared from enclosed pens and eggs started appearing inside the pen out of nowhere. Other mobs have been reported as being invisible, including incidents of invisible hostile mobs (creepers) attacking players.
Please do some reading up on lag, what it is and what causes it. It is generally a hardware issue. The XBox 360 has been in production without major additions to its real "guts" for many, many years. It has limited RAM (512 MB) and a very old-style, not very powerful graphics card by today's standards (500 mHz). When it was first produced, it was state of the art; but currently, most PCs are far more powerful and the gaming PCs that run Minecraft PC so well are worlds and worlds more powerful than the XBox. There is really nothing 4J can do about the hardware limitations of the XBox. That's up to Microsoft to decide if and when they produce a more powerful XBox console.
I get the same problem but im not sure if it is lag caused by hardware. When the entities flash the game doesnt slow down, which happens when the RAM is taxed. This leads me to believe its a rendering issue.
The door bug is an old one 4J hasnt fixed yet. But what do you mean by piston lag? Do they disappear while firing? (mine do but otherwise they run "on time") Id group this bug with vanishing mobs/drops. It seems to happen only to entities. I believe pistons become entities when they fire then revert back to a block - just like falling sand.

Again if 4J would put a Code that would represent the CPU and relivent box info or the CPU vesion under the seed info, then we could post this with the bug reports then they would know if these bugs are morr previlent with the box and cpu type or it is truley and a bug.....
I am sure the write some code, or include some object code that could detect the box state, cpu type and memory state on load. this would tell them what they are dealing with and help them resolve this better.

it is not rocket scince here it is code
All they would need is the date of manufacture of the systems that most commonly experience this issue. that would also give them the hardware specs. No code is necessary.
I took a screenshot and uploaded it to facebook, my interface disappeared and refused to come back. I can not see my health or hunger meter, I can not view my quick select screen unless I open my inventory page, which I can see fine as well as my crafting menu. I can see myself in third person, but my hand is invisible in first person. The only things visible to me are button commands in the bottom left "rt-mine, etc".
It comes back if I reset the console, but it is a manor inconvenience.

BTW - mine is 7-20-2006
if you look during this time there were two models being produced so this limits it down to two boxes not one or the other with dates overlapping
7-20-2006
say you have a box produced in 02 of 2008 what of three boxes does the person own
if you want to know the year that is as I have pointed out go to system settings/ system info/ look at the serial number and count backwards form the end to 5 being the fifth digit that is the year the very last two digits are the production plant 02: Mexico, 03: Hungary, 05: China, 06: Taiwan
So mine is from 08 and made in China what boxes is it from this info I just gave you. you know this because I posted it in the forum before already.
The what chip set Falcon jasper Zephyr, nothing was consistent, oh youo can make a guess by the power brick wattage, not always correct..
They would also have to cross reference dates with hardware configurations. the Snippet of code would give real time facts...
then they have to cross reference the dates to hardware configurations then they have to cross reference the dates to hardware configurations, and still have nothing.
This takes man hours they would have to have some one to do this cross reference.
I bought an Xbox expecting to get one model getting another.
Do you want people to start picking up the Xbox flip it upside down and look at the sticker for the date now, lets unplug, turtle beach, power brick, video connection, network connection, it remove it from were it is and now we can look at the bottom?????.
now we can put it all back together now......
Time taken 8 minutes if your careful
if you don't care leave box powered up, leave what ever Cd in tray you had in it yank it out of were ever flip it over, "not good for the HDD" jam it back were ever it was like a piece of useless crap time taken less the a minute , plug in what ever came unplugged money is no object to your because your rich and daddy has 4 Bentleys and a mistress.
Why bother the user.
Xbox put the console id under system settings so the user could give this to the support agent on the fly while on the phone.
so what is the big deal
fact is a good coder could whip out this snippet in about 10 min and it
The code is the best option. if these guys cant write a simple snippet of code for the info and then clear and dump the array after use, then they don't need to be writing games. This gams has some real bad bug issues you cant blame it on hardware the PC version has been developing some bugs now as well to. Are we to say those machines are obsolete or broken as well.
This is a game in progress that will always be moving forward so why not put it in, it wont take over head because it will run one once, give you the answer then dump the task and clear and dump the array from use then it will not reside in ram or even in the game past the load screen of the save......
And if I have to do what your asking then it is going to **** me off more as a user when I play the game.
I am noticing that trapped/pen animals do not always spawn inside their pens (after an exit of the game and re-entry). They sometimes spawn outside the pen and just wander off. This may explain some of the missing penned animals; however, it does not explain "invisible chickens" still laying eggs inside their pens. On another note, I have noticed that wild animals of all types sometimes spawn inside closed pens, which can be catastrophic if the animal intentionally penned is a sheep and the wild animal spawning inside the pen is a wolf. I recently had two wild wolves spawn inside my rather small chicken coop and wound up taming them in order to lead them out of the pen without losing the chickens. Is there a way to get the game to recognize a fenced in area as a place where trapped animals must spawn inside and wild animals must spawn outside?
