Actually, it is 12:27 p.m. in the Pacific Time Zone. So the news could be available anywhere between now and a few hours from now depending on when their work day ends. I'm in the Central Time Zone and Pacific is 2 hours behind Central. As of right now, it is 2:27 p.m. here.
I just hope the update comes out sometime this week, I've been itching to get back into Minecraft and I just can't bring myself to play at the moment when I know a major game overhaul is en route.
