So i was reading the Change log and it said chain armor added.

So is chain armor better than diamond armor?

Chain armor has the same durability as Iron, but cannot be made in Survival, as it is made of fire blocks, so it can only be given through commands, or in creative mode.

Yea, but honestly not many people care about leaderboards so most are going to use creative to update there old maps.

-Lava blocks
-Water blocks
-Bedrock
-Golden apples
-and monster spawners
Now as cool as that is to have, i know its cheating and will get you banned. But do you think that it will work for people with fire blocks?

If and when trading with villagers is added you will be able to get chain armor in a survival map without creative or mods
Rigth now the only way to get Chain Armor is through creative mode. If you see someone with stacks of water and lava however, they have either hacked their inventory or are using the PC version of Minecraft.

You should remove golden apples and bedrock from your list. They are, as well as chain armour, currently on the XBox 360 in creative mode, so no duping or modding required to get those and obtaining them that way will not get you banned and is only cheating if the rules specified by the host for that world say it's cheating. Creative mode is a game valid option. It does come with a price (deactivation of the leaderboards and achievements); but those two are not the be all and the end all of "rules" when it comes to Minecraft.

I'm sorry for my response to your post. Since the thread had been bumped, I didn't seen how old your post was when I read it and thought I was responding to a comment you made just that day. Of course, back in October, I don't think creative mode was in the game yet.
The search bar vs. bumping question is a real quandary actually. If people start new threads, they seem to get locked. If they add on to old threads, confusion reigns among the responses. I don't know what a good solution would be. Anyway, I apologize for my comment.
