Been trying to make a pair of iron doors with pressure plates in front of them so mobs can trigger them.
When there's just one door, it works fine. But when I put in another one, the 'extra' door faces the other way, of course...but it seems to react differently to power as well. Once it opens once, from that point on having power causes the door to CLOSE, while being unpowered causes it to be open. I can fix this by putting the door facing the other way, but then it's not lined up properly with its neighbor and looks awful.
I tried running a sort of inverter, but it doesn't work. The block with the pressure pad has to be right next to the door so the timing is right, and that means that it directly powers the door block when the pad is weighted, regardless of any inverted signal also coming from the pad block.
The wiki cheerfully asserts that two pressure plates will work fine. This has not been my experience.
tried inverting it underground having a torch under the door's block. Then running the redstone in a circular pattern wide enough from the plate all done underground.

I dont know if it works for iron doors but I found a video on youtube where a gentlemen did a wooden double door setup with pressure plates for the pc.
I used this design and it carried over very well to the 360, works great. I will link you the video, fast forward to 5:55 for the double door tutorial. You could simply change out the wooden doors for Iron to see if it will work, I will test on my own tonight for sure.
Let me know if you want to see it in action, I will be happy to show you the ones I have built in my world.
Update: replaced the wooden doors with iron and everything functions as it should.
Also I just checked out the video you posted andhe and that one is a WHOLE lot simpler then the design I used. Both would work very well though, try them out to see which one ya like.
Thank you very much! The space I have is limited due to water...but looking at this, it should work fine, since there's no interruption in the top layer of blocks. It's unfortuanate that I have to space out the plates like that...but it's much better than nothing.
Basically I'm hooking this up to the output of a mob spawner. Mobs come up and feed into a small corridor with the double doors at the end. They trigger the plates to open the doors as the water conveyor ends, thus allowing monsters to spill out into the world...but the iron doors making sure someone can't easily wander into the spawner itself.
Hopefully the doors stay open long enough to let the mobs out. Work in progress.

if you need more delay, then add repeaters... that should at least increase the delay, and put them at a higher setting obviously for maximum delay if needed.

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
Aye each repeater adds like 100-120 ms (milliseconds) so you could easily add 3 more repeaters into it to add an extra 3 seconds of delay.
There is also a video on youtube about setting up said door with an increased delay, up to 6 seconds. I can not find the video but I will try, it should help keep the doors open long enough for the mobs to walk on through.
