ok people, i by no means am an expert. but i can tell you one thing... there is/are way to many people that come here and argue about different things going on with minecraft, and what they would love/like to see!
one of the biggest topics that people seem to "fight" over is mods.
1 > 4-J and Mojang NEVER said that they would not bring mods to xbox. NOR did they say they would not.
2 > even if someone else "made" the mod, the original game script was 4-J/Mojang coding, thus still owned by 4-J/Mojang.
3 > IF the xbox version of minecraft ever does get mods, i'm sure that (just like creative mod) it/they can be turned on or off.
these above are just a few points that are very touchy for some people, or so it seems.
also another very big touchy subject here, would be the fact that we (the xbox version players) get spammed by Pc version players. i know this happens to me. what i mean by this is that you post/say one thing, and the pc players jump/hound you like a drunk teenager on roofies.
so, if you can't read between the lines and play the pc version, and are reading this...
DO NOT COMMENT ON THIS, IT'S FOR XBOX PLAYERS ONLY!
YOU HAVE YOUR PLATFORM.
now, with that said and out of the way...
another thing that "really grinds my gears" is people that try and make it sound like they work for 4-J/mojang, by saying that, "4-J will never do this, or that"
and for that i have now only one question... > HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW?<
This has already been "Set straight" multiple times. Alot of people already knew this. Congrats to those who didnt. And I think the pc players who 'spam' xbox players, are just people who might be scrolling through the forum list, and see a topic they are interested in, without realizing its in the xbox section. Its a common mistake and not a "very big touchy subject" unless you make it that way.
Mods will never be on the Xbox 360. DLC however, will be.
On the console, there is a difference. They will not just be taking mods from the PC and releasing them on the Xbox 360. Micrososft would never let that happen. The only things that will be released for Minecraft are official in-house made DLC from 4JStudios.

Isn't this exactly what you're doing? You don't work for 4J yet here you are trying relentlessly to tell everyone that mods are definitely going to happen.
Like we've said, from everything 4J has said, we will be getting DLC in the future. DLC is technically a mod. Like how Shivering Isles is a "mod" made by Bethesda for Oblivion. Or how the Secret Armory of General Knoxx was a "mod" For Borderlands. That is the kind of "mod" we're getting. They will not be just copying and pasting from the PC onto the Xbox 360. They will be making their own content, for their own game.
I think that if 4J does adopt some "mod-like" ideas into the game, they would technically no long be mods. Wouldn't they just be developer-introduced content? If they decide to adopt ideas that already exist as mods for the PC, they would, to avoid copyright issues, still have to negotiate rights to those ideas in a very similar way in which they negotiated a porting contract with Mojang in order to program the game onto the XBox in the first place. They also have to receive permission from Mojang to "take the game in their own direction." (which they have said they are hoping to do).
The XBox is simply not an "open-source" environment; and it can't be one unless Microsoft decides to completely change their philosophy for it.

lol too funny
I've seen all the information you've posted. Like everyone else has said multiple times, the only mods we'll be seeing are ones made by 4J and sold for $$$$
hmmm id like to disagree with you,
adding extra maps or game play ISNT mods, mods is changing how the game mechanics works to better your gaming experience, or 'cheating' the game, what your talking about is extending your gaming experience with more lvls....so to spk
Mods are anything added tot he game. There are many mods for Skyrim on the PC that add weapoms, new areas, quests, etc. and those are still called mods. Same thing for PC Minecraft. There are many mods that add things like extra biomes and new redstone. Those are also called mods.
Everyone is saying the game will get mods. They just won't be called mods. They will be called DLC. They also will not be from the PC, they will be made by 4J. Any mods made by people outside of 4J/Microsoft will get you banned from Xbox Live.
altering the games dynamics from how they where originally designed, this is why there called MODIFICATIONS
the above quoted, is the very same principal for minecraft mods. go to youtube, and compare tekkit to plain old minecraft... the game files have been modded, to add those things.

well thank you for letting me have my little rant
Peace!

this says NOTHING about there not being any mods.
What will be added is official 4J made DLC.
3RD player party content is basically content "edited" by the players them selfs. thus the "MODDING" of files
this mod stuff is what bothers me

you might say that, but you keep saying that a mod is hacking/cheating when it's not
