What to post: Any facts about TNT will be fine. Also, post pics of TNT explosions you made.
Why I made this thread: There's a slime thread. Why not a TNT thread.
TNT Vocab:
TNT: An explosive block.
Blast Resistance: How much a block can handle before blowing up.
Blast Radius: How far an explosion goes.
Some facts I know:
The reason TNT can't blow up obsidian:
TNT has a certain explosion power(the estimated power is 85). Obsidian has over 200 blast resistance. If you try to blow up obsidian with 1 TNT, it will not work. Try using even more (about 5 stacks of TNT) and it still won't work. Why? Because no matter how much TNT you use, it will still have the same blast power. The only thing that increases is the blast radius.
Why TNT lags your game:
When TNT explodes, the game has to render the explosion, but when multiple TNT is used, the game won't be able to render fast enough and it will slow down.
Hope you enjoyed. Have a nice day.
P.S Please don't be a smarta*s or start a flame war. I don't want this thread to get locked.
another reason for you why TNT can make your game lag is because it drops lots of block entities which can cause to game to lag more
I don't think that has anything to do with the lag. I've had free standing TNT structures I have exploded with no blocks to drop, and it lagged as much as when I covered a mountain in TNT, inside and out

I need to give out more reputation. I'm not used to the system, but I see so many helpful posts. D: Sorry if I forget you!

This was back when the game came out. However, it was one of my biggest TNT fails of all time. There was a floating mountain above my house that I wanted to try and blow up. The outcome was not pretty.
This here, was the effect of a TNT war. Tons of Landmines and TNT cannons. We leveled my world. It was fun as hell though.
