Don't get why it's so hard for people to grasp...the world size cant increase... The xbox is very very limited on what it can do. The current xbox probably won't ever see a world increase...just because the fact that it would most likely (Especially for people playing on the ancient white bricks) would have some serious issues.
Wait until the 720 is released...hope they have Minecraft on there and I'm sure the world size will increase

Actually, there is very little difference in processing power and RAM between the "ancient white bricks" and the newer XBox 360s. Since RAM is what 4J have stated as the issue with increasing world size, it would be reasonable to expect that everyone would have similar issues with larger-sized worlds, unless something else (and perhaps several something elses) are eliminated from the game to free up processing capacity at the same time.
As you don't work for 4j you don't know that for certain. In fact until a member of 4j staff actually tweets that a particular feature is not going to be included then all people can do is speculate.
It's pretty much stated that the only way worlds can get bigger at this point is to remove the server client from the Xbox 360 which would mean we would need non local servers.
In simple terms, your console is managing the Minecraft game client while it also hosts a server for online play over Xbox Live. Online connectivity is a great strength of the console version over the PC; both offer multiplayer, but it's all streamlined through the Xbox Live framework on the console side. You can just join in if you have a friend playing online, and vice versa.
That said, the possibility of one day seeing larger Minecraft worlds on the Xbox 360 isn't completely out of the question. Even now, 4J is looking ahead to how the game might take shape once the console game is up to date, gameplay features-wise, with the PC.
"One thing that is in discussion at the moment is the possibility of having servers. Similar to the Battlefield 3's 'rent-a-server' [feature]," Burns said. "If we can shift the work off to [an external] server, then I think we can open up quite a bit more. It's definitely something that I want to look at, and it's now something that Microsoft are quite keen to look at as well. So fingers crossed, we might get there."
So basically, as it is right now, the worlds will never get bigger. The only way that can happen is if they can somehow remove the server client off of the console itself.

I agree with Mustache_Guy (as he quoted them above). They did pretty much say it in black and white techspeak. They also haven't put it into the change log; and given the amount of heat they've been taking over world size for months now, I would think that if they had managed to increase it even a little bit, they would be shouting as much from the highest mountain tops just to get all of the monkeys off their backs. You can hold out a faint hope if you want to; but I think you're probably just setting yourself up for a disappointment when 1.8.2 is released. I have no such hopes, so if they do somehow pull it off, I can just be pleasantly surprised.
Will that seed definately work after the update, I thought that maybe the seeds from PC version wouldnt match up with the xbox version, however if they do then that is an awesome seed!
Well, the 1.3-1.7 seeds have worked with the Xbox version so far (more or less, adjusted to have ocean cutoffs at the edges)
So I'm hoping 1.8 seeds will work all the same.
If so, this map might be even better than the PC version counterpart of this seed, since there porbably wouldn't be any mainland to find, and thus less temptation to cheat.
I hope you're right, Im going to start planning my project for that world already
Shipwrecks, harbours, lighthouses, underwater cities, .... oh and of course surviving!
The only limitation I am seeing is, well for someone like myself anyways is the need to have every resource, dark wood, pumpkins, clay etc, because i like to combine basic survival with the ability to create something special at the same time.
I don't think it's cheating so much if you go on creative and give yourself one measley pumpkin. And a dark wood sapling. I'm in love with dark wood, I know that feel.

1.3-1.7 seeds may not work in 1.8.2 as they changed the world generation parameters. You might think about researching pc seeds from 1.8.2 and after to get a good seed for your ocean map.

Seeds that worked prior to 1.8.2 will still work, they just won't give the same worlds anymore.
Glacier, 404, and all the other famous seeds from pre 1.8 will no longer generate the famous maps they're known for.

There may have been a little misinterpretation here The island seed I found is a 1.8 seed, and I was stating that I believe that 1.8 seeds will work in the 1.8 update, seeing as 1.3-1.7 beta seeds have worked on the xbox so far.

The only wrinkle I've heard regarding PC/MCXBLA is that sometimes, the PC seeds don't start showing interesting stuff until you move away from the spawn. That doesn't seem to be the case on this map (specifically stated to be made at prime spawn), but some of the other 1.8 seeds I've heard of are rumored to not work on MCXBLA because the interesting stuff is outside out 894X894 zone.

Yeah, I saw a lot of seeds that looked cool as anything, and then I looked at the coordinates for some of the landmarks they were showing, broke my heart to see them in the x/z = 600-800 range
