Thread title says it all. I feel that creative mode could push the 360 version of the game into something really special, but the lack of an easy way to share maps will hinder it as much of a phenomenon as it could be..
Any thoughts?
Please don't be a person that agree's maps should be shared, This topic will be remove because its considered a MOD, and some smart a** will try and show how it is; but I do agree.....It will hinder the greatness. If you want maps to download just go to TheTechGame

Huh? I was hoping there would something in the works through XBLive in the future. Thee is a lot of potential for RPG makers and other creative people to do some great stuff that could be shared to those not on a friend's list. There will be a LOT more people interested in using Minecraft because of the freedom and ease of building in creative. Kind of sucks if all the amazing things we will see can't be experienced by as many people as possible.

That was my point. Most people who own consoles aren't going to do that. Heck, some of them probably only use their PC's for the internet, work, or school and wouldn't even think about doing that to share a file.On the other hand, a "Map Center" on XBL where you could just dump your stuff out into the world with a few button presses...think about the possibilities!
A file share system would be great and is very possible. 4J will probably create something like that after 1.2.3 just like texture packs and other things. But no one knows for sure, so we just gotta let it play out. Btw this thread will probably get locked.

Maybe I should add something to the title, so it doesn't get locked?:P
One thing I did notice about the patch notes that is kind of cool is they are adding some control for hosts of games, so they can show off their stuff without fear of being griefed. Might be a nice stopgap.

A good way to not get griefed is to play with only people you trust.
P.S I think changing the title would be a good idea.
honestly sharing maps, i dont care for much. maybe a fileshare system would be cool. but if they could save your game as theirs directly, F*** no. i would be strictly 1 player, because there are to many A-holes out there that would say its there own work and save without you knowing

Agreed. They have already indicated that they are looking into the possibility of rental servers and that they also want to take the game in a direction that makes it more competitive... So, I think using some of those servers for some form of legitimate client file sharing system for various user-generated specialty maps is a good possibility sometime after 1.2.3.
Yeah, I hope they do something kinda like Halo's fileshare where you can just upload a map and others can download and play. NO hassle no extra crap needed.
Any thoughts?

Retired StaffBesides, I'm sure they will implement some sort of filesharing eventually.

Skate 3 as it has been mentioned before, has an excellent system for sharing things through xbl.
When we are going to get the update, is what should be discussed. I personally believe, they'll toss a feature in the next update.
