This is mostly a question for 4J Steve or other people like that but either way, do you think Xbox should get a sub-forum? One for creative & one for survival?
If they do, it'll be nice. If they don't I wont really be bothered. I'd rather see some nice creations on the xbox board than to listen to people whine.
No. There are already sub-forums for creative and survival. Use them.
While there is a sub-forum for creative and survival, it makes me wonder why we even have an XBox section. If everyone posted in the survival and creative forums, then the XBox forum would be filled with polls on texture packs, mods and general rants about stuff not implemented yet, and of course the always hilarious update conspiracy threads.
I doubt the XBox will ever catch up to the PC version. So then posting in those forums will usually yield comments from people like why didn't you use (PC specific item or program/ method) There will inevitably be a flood of "look what I built" threads on here, and rather then the also inevitable creative vs survival arguments the mods should nip it in the bud and create these sub-forums specifically for XBox. Let's face it XBox survival and creative are different then the PC even more so with the mix matching updates we get.
I'm actually surprised this section of the forum never had these sub-forums to begin with. It would have saved a lot of arguing on the main forum (for XBox) dupers could have used the creative forum, thereby people going into that forum would already know what to expect. I'm not saying they should have created a sub-forum for a glitch but it would have saved some arguing and once creative came out the duping threads would die off anyway.

A simplier way is to continue to use the existing forums but put xbox in the title at the start and in the main context. Even now it wont guarantee PC users replying because they currently do it in the xbox forum. I can see the merit in having them in the xbox version but its an alternative if we dont get the sub forum. I tend not to read Wiki because alot of what is written isnt for the xbox where as I do read the xbox forum because its specifically for XBOX.
I would think they would make a seperate sub forum for xbox. We dont have the same things the PC does and eventually we will have things they dont have at all. It would probably confuse some people if PC and XBOX were together since we do and have different things.

I'll admit you have a point, but it's not going to happen. If they do that, they might as well make 3 main forums, one for PC, one for Xbox, and one for Pocket Edition, and make a copy of every single sub-forum on the site. Not a good idea, the sections that already were the least active would slow to a crawl. I wouldn't even want to see what MCXBLA's redstone section would look like. *shudders*
The point is, the Survival, Creative, Show Off Your Creation, Redstone Discussion & Mechanisms sections, and many others, are not for MCPC, they are for Minecraft in general. The survival section for example is called "Survival Mode" not "Survival Mode (PC)". You really don't have much to worry about posting a survival build here, flame wars only start when a duped build is posted and someone feels the need to assert how much of a better person they are than the OP. If you want to post a creative mode build, you can do it here, or in the creative section. Just put [MCXBLA] in front of the title to avoid PC users suggesting mods and whatnot.

I think this is a great idea. There perhaps should be a required tag regarding which platform a person is referring to whenever they post anything anywhere in the non-platform specific forums like creative, survival, redstone, etc.
If there where to make another sub section then I think they should make 4J section with all latest info and posts relevant within the xbox forum part .
Have you seen the twitter feed thread here It has all the latest info relevant to the xbox version of MC
1) XBox and PC are completely different versions. So questions for the Xbox version can't necessarily be answered by PC users.
2) There's a very good reason why there's no creative and survival sections now--there is no creative mode for Xbox. Once it gets added (next week, hopefully), there will be a creative mode.
This was discussed with the staff as part of the recent forum reorganization. It was decided against due to several reasons but mainly because their are already places for these types of posts with the existing creative, survival , and Show Your Creation sub-forums utilizing the tagging feature to note that it's an Xbox build.
Adding copies of each of these under the Xbox area would have further fragmented the forum system and made it more difficult to navigate.
We rarely move them just because there is no sub-forum specifically for them. Yes we would prefer that they get posted in the other areas but we typically let them slide when they show up here.
The amount of traffic doesn't seem to justify it. I asked because it made me wonder if a lot of build threads are getting missed because they are moved, but it's that people aren't posting a lot of build threads!
I have been having a lot of bother finding Australian-or-similar-timezone players, despite asking 'round on web forums. I'm thinking that, despite 4 million sales, console users just don't use (old school?) web forums that much.
The same thing could be said about any game, regardless of platform. The player base is always going to be larger than the amount of active users on a corresponding forum. Plus, there are a lot of people that just lurk this forum for information and never even make an account.

I don't think we need a subforum.
