Plateaus, anyone? Yeah, it's not really a biome... I know.
yeah, that would be more nice as a feature than a biome, but i can see it as being a biome if it were like a mountain biome. Massive mountains with plateaus in and around the edges, and even have quite a few on top. Of course it would prolly have to be a bit better than the extreme hills biome, at least in the way things are in it.
Like i said it would be more of a feature than anything, and I would love to see this one...:D
Love the mountain biomes... Rolly hills and the like.:D
Also i wouldn't mind seeing sky biomes which would mean islands in the sky above the water, and i can only see that one when the height of the world is increased to account for it. Would be interesting in my oppinion.
To more a point it would be nice to see more of a control over what you get in your random world. More options to fine tune the random generation, but not so much to break the randomness...:D

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.

I agree. Maybe an option where the host could choose what biomies spawn in their world, due to it's limited size on the Xbox edition.
Crystaline Biome- like a mountain or cave with rocks made of glass like blocks that can be mined and placed like stone (Could say quartz growths perhaps), or even growable crystal trees that can be mined for the blocks and drop seedlings that you can plant near lava instead of water to grow more of them. They could use the ice texture and come in different colors.
Sakura Forest Biome- a forested biome thats simply full of trees with dark trunks and pink or white leaves.

Cool, I like those ideas! Especially the Crystaline one. Very descriptive.

good idea. a biome like that would be nice... picture the crystal mobs.
Seasonal Biome: It would be a normal biome, but the seasons would change in it. During the spring it would rain more often there. Summer would be sunny (with fewer clouds), and have daytime last longer, plus less chance of rain. Fall, like spring, but a chance of snow now and then. Winter, shorter days, longer nights, and snow is the only precipitation.
I would like a biome where the air is crisp and fresh, sprinkled with scents of dark ancient secrets, yet also suggests a promise of a new day, with the occasional hint of teen spirit.
A biome where the men are manly and the women all have child bearing hips.
A biome that makes you leave all your worries at the door yet your sword close at hand.
A biome where it is not uncommon to encounter others who have nothing more to offer than a few kind words and a smile.
A biome that brings out your inner child, yet forces you to grow up fast.

Lol I was just about to post a crystalline biome, though, I like your concept better than mine (where the crystals simply grew on the surface). I'm also all for adding in the Sakura and Autumn forest Biomes for a bit more color variation. I even liked the redwood forest biome, but the trees should be thicker as well they should randomly generate to be between 2x2 and 8x8 blocks wide so you , more or less have to carve paths through them to get around Sorta like this picture.
I'm also all for a tropical islands biome as mentioned a few times before. I've even been trying to make a pseudo-palm tree for a small village I've made that stretches out with wooden bridges and stilts across a bay.
As far as my own biome. I'd love to see a floating islands biome. Imagine you crest a large hill and then stand back in awe at what you see below you. In a valley surrounded by high cliffs you see an area where the ground appears to be winning the war on gravity. The plains below are pockmarked with grassy craters where sections of the earth have broken free and become suspended in the air. The small chucks of land would have slightly bowed tops and short coned bottoms (to sort of look like a flying reversed crater), naturally because of the game engine the islands would be stationary. all of your normal grasses and trees would still spawn on top of the little islands
If we take HotaruTomoe's idea of implementing a crystal biome we could add in a small species of floating crystal to act as a sort of cause for these biomes. These floating crystals could be a nice ingredient for future potions too or could be useful on their own as the only object capable of being placed freely in the air rather than attached to something You'd place a float stone at around head height and then use it to begin building whatever it was you wanted to have suspended mid air. This would be very useful with flight in creative mode for doing a floating city. . . which i think may just be my next project after 1.8.2.
Nothing too huge, maybe a tower or two and a bunch of small buildings on a large chunk of flying dirt similar to the small ones i described, hmm. . .

You want a biome that feels like home.
*Nods sagely*
Meteor biome: Exposed stone, chunks of iron ore commonly available, fire littered about the area, and holes of different proportions.
Or
Abyss biome: much like a ravine except underwater, goes pretty far down, dark, perfect for hiding bases.
Or
Graveyard biome: Graves everywhere, some graves hold treasures and others hold zombies or skeletons, zombies and skeletons spawn twice the rate here, sometimes an opening will spawn leading to a crypt which hold treasures of different value, traps, and undead.

The path of one's life is long journey in which every moment shapes the road before you.
One day, when i finally buy my first house I will plant an small orchard of cherry trees! I'll probably put white Christmas lights in them so that they glow from within while they bloom! It's things like this that make me miss the old family farm!
On Topic, Yes, this needs to be added to Minecraft! Cherry Trees (Sakura), FTW!
A fairy groto. Mushoroom houses, fairy rings(toadstool ring), imps, pixies. Moombeam lamps Dragon eggs that turn into Ice dragons, fire dragons water dragrons etc. Pixie dust that sends you to sleep. Rainbows, waterfalls Would be a safe haven from mobs, with the dragons keeping them out. A place to restock food etc
The pixies could be fun, especially if they're mischievousness and will send you to sleep in the day only to wake up at night! Then you'll have to fight your way back home to your bed to keep all your fairy grotto loot!

I like that idea maybe they could also teleport you to a different part of the world and you have to find your way home

Actually, this would be a better feature.

*Edit: I've found a link where someone was suggesting something like this for a custom survival map. they have a lot of really nice pictures if you wanna take a look!
