So I today i tried the find plays thread, and didn't like it...
I wanted to try something new since all i do is craft alone.
Had a open server and played with some people.
It was fun for the time being. I told them autosave ever 120mins even tho i didn't have it on.
i left for about 20mins...
Boom griefed.
anyways point is i don't know if its against the rules to post the names of the people.
to make sure this doesn't happen to anyone else.
Wow... that sucks. Fortunetly the new 1.8 update will add the option to turn off other people's edit. Regarding the name posting, I'm not entirely certain. You'll have to ask a moderater I guess.
That blows, but at least you had the foresight to turn off your autosave. LOL, next time, take a before screenshot to go with the after pic and "accidentally" get their gamertags in the frame.... "I'm sorry Mr Moderator, i had no idea their gamertags were there!"

It was pretty easy to keep an eye on them due to how small the town is.
'Tis why I only play with friends. I don't play with friends of friends, or random people from the forum.
If video games have taught me one thing in the 15 years I've been playing them, it's that people are [profanity="[profanity="[profanity="asshole"]"]"]s and can hardly ever be trusted.

I did the same thing. I'll be doing it again when Halo 4 comes out. I love Minecraft, but I love other games as well. When Halo 4 comes out, I probably won't play Minecraft for a long, long time.

Same here. When Halo 4 comes out, pretty much every other game I have will become a dust collector.

I hope you are right, or I won't even bother. That was the fun part of creative on Total Miner, there would be 6-12 people flying around watching me build. I'd grant permissons on occasion but only after I had a fresh save that I could fall back on. Also, I would never start a major project while others had their permissions.
Sometimes it was fun to turn on edits for everyone out of the blue and see how long it would take for people to grief. I'd even get into it, turning on explosives and launching grenades at my city. Lesson here is turn off autosave if you are unsure who you are playing with and don't build anything that you aren't afraid to rebuild.
This Happened to me too. I had autosave on though... I wish there had been a way to revert to the last save, or see who did it? but it happens. Sorry it happened to you.
To prevent griefing I keep my invite only option on along with turning off autosave then when they join I follow them around the map I also built a pit for people to spawn in. (Pull lever = sticky piston stairway made of smooth stone)
They did all of that within 20 minutes?! Holy crap! Whether their was a lot of them or they duped a lot of tnt. How many people do you think was involved in this heinous crime?
