Okay so first of all, a little while ago I had the idea of making an adventure / dungeon map. Everyone spawns at a house and they have to make their way to a house in the middle of the woods. They get to the house and have to find the secret entrance to an underground dungeon of which they have to solve how to progress into each room until they eventually reach the end. (Puzzles, mazes, hidden doors, hunt down switches in a huge cave ect)
They can't build, craft, or break blocks and can only use what they find in random treasure chests throughout the game.
So here's where I need your guy's help! I always think ahead of what my next project will be while I'm finishing up my first, and at first I was going to make just another one of these but a tower you had to climb instead when an idea hit me!
Would something be possible like this on Creative?
On Creative Mode:
1) Could I make a map then play it like a normal survival mode map as long as I trust the other players not to fly around and create blocks?
2) Can Mobs be hostile in creative mode? (Creepers, Zombies, Spiders ect)
3) If they are hostile, could I have set spawns? Like if I set up a boss room could I spawn 2 creepers, 4 skeletons, and 6 spiders in a room and trust that they'll always be in there?
4) I thought I'd have more questions but for now that's all I can think of...
After trying Creative Mode on PC and making a sand castle in only a couple hours and realizing how easy it is to create stuff compared to survival, I have decided, if possible, to attempt at making a whole full on Zelda-style adventure game. Theme'd dungeons with an unlockable new item / equipment in each dungeon. Explorable world with secret rooms and items. Dungeons filled with puzzles and challenges.
I'd love to know if this is all possible to do on creative mode! No hostile mobs would certainly make me reconsider since the world would be so empty and boring, or filled with all passive creatures. Thanks

Yes, you can switch between creative & survival. But if you do, leaderboards & achievements will be disabled for that world.

Mobs will still spawn, but will be neutral until provoked by the player. They will also deal no damage. Creepers still explode.

See above.

It's like that sometimes...
I really do wish mobs would attack and hurt you when you switch to survival :/ I don't see why not. Now I may reconsider... we'll see. Thanks again

In reference to people breaking blocks, you can switch to Survival for your adventure map, then turn on the new option where no one is allowed to break blocks.

They will still attack and hurt after you switch back into a survival mode.
