The process for getting them to spawn is pretty much the same as on PC. Their properties are also described in the Wiki... Just note that on the XBox they spawn only below Level 16 (not 40). The Slime Finder aps online are working well for most people. For some reason, I don't know yet, the slimes in my seed are spawning not exactly on the chunks described by the slime finder; but close. Even with that apparent glitch, I'm still collecting lots of slime.
Are they found in caves or just in a block or where/what.
While caving in my world with a buddy, we found one random slime in this one spot, it was eye level 16 so foot level 14, perfect level for slimes. As someone said they spawn in a 16x16 chunk so possibly multiple chunks in one area.
Best plan is to dig out the area once found and do possible levels beneath or above depending on your y: level. Since I could not understand the slime finder app, I pretty much just got lucky with my slime find.
I personally have had better luck closer to bedrock. The slimefinder app linked in the main slime thread is awesome. I have three rooms going and there is always slime in them. As far as using water, that's been done, and this is mostly a world for trying new things for me till 1.8 comes out. I'm mostly doing off the wall stuff to see what works and what doesn't. I made a flint farm last night lol basically a room that is 8x8 square and ten deep. There's an exit in the bottom for when you're done that leads back to the top. when filled it holds 3 stacks plus 24 gravel. I dug it up and filled it twice gaining almost 60 flints.......

Being down on bedrock made a water death impossible, what other ways have you guys found to harvest your slime?
