This has been in existence since the nether was implemented. This happens because there is no day/night cycle in the nether, and this messes with the beds, causing them to explode. At least, that was the problem.
Funny thing is I didn't even know about this. xD Then again, I pretty much never go into the nether. And when I do, it's just to mine a couple blocks of glowstone.
Wow you guys are really hating on these guys just for not knowing a tiny feature/glitch about the nether, I've been playing since 1.3 and found about this around 1.6, He probably never played the PC version before thats why he didn't know.. No reason to hate. All minecraft players started as noobs (no offense to op) Just check out Yogscast first minecraft video they sucked, but now look at em'

Yeah me neither. The nether isn't really a place of interest for me, It's pretty bland and not much to it, Especially in the vanilla version of Minecraft on the Xbox.
I did not know that. Never tried sleeping in the Nether. Thanks for the info and just ignore these rude know it all buttheads. They think they are so smart because they know everything about a video game.

Well, the Nether existed before beds. But yeah, there's no day/night cycle. You used to be able to use Nether beds back in 1.3, but Notch changed them to explode.
This will also happen when the End is implemented.
My god people on this fourm never miss a chance to lash out at some one for something simple but then agin there are the nice people

Yeah... I've known that for a while now. I just told my brother that that happens when he tried to sleep in a bed, and now he's so excited he keeps sleeping in beds in the nether.... lol.
I didn't know that. Its not something I would have ever thought about doing. I know people have Nether forts and stuff they make....but to me its a place you go, not a place you build in. Like my mines, its serves to provide resources but not a home. I'd have never encountered this, had the OP not posted it in this very thread. Its not even something I would have looked into. So, thank OP. This piece of information is very small, and easy to overlook in the grand scale of things that this game has hidden in it.
