Hi Guys, I have been reading, and met a guy on MCXB that says that he's now building out of Redstone. I was told that there is no redstone in MCXB. Then he said to me that I will find it if I dig deep enough and it will be with the bedrock. I did that, hit bed rock, dug around for about 30 minutes (found all sorts of goodies) but no red stone.
I would like to get some as I'm limited and bored with some of the color choices and I really don't want to build a house out of wool in survival mode.
There is redstone, they even express it in the opening tutorial map. And, tbh, 30 minutes isnt a long time on my minecraft watch. Dig a 10x10 hole all the way down the bedrock, Ive always gotten what I wanted thatway, not always diamonds all the time though.

there is a small bug where a certain ore doesn't spawn in a chunk, maybe redstone happened to you, but bedrock is not the best place to look for redstone and the bug is quite rare

Try finding a cave, not just strip mining

You do know that redstone is not another block you can use for building right? You use the redstone dust to build circuitry for machines.

I think I got it what I'm looking for confused. There's a block, its a stone but it's like a reddish brown. I was told that was "redstone" I found the stuff to make torches out of. Sorry noob....
No, after looking more and looking at some youtube vids it looks like the "stone" that I'm looking for, thought, is from a texture/ mod pack thing and only on PC.
Redstone texture is the exact same as coal/iron/gold/diamond except a red, and when you hit it, it will glow.

Then you make stairs that go up about 12 blocks.
Start mining horizontally from there and you'll be sure to find a bunch of redstone.
This method is also used for diamonds too.
That would definitely suck if that happened with diamonds!
Redstone never glows when I mine it. It actually dims in comparison to the surrounding light.
