i posted a question on your twitter account but you won't answer me. ( my twitter account is the gamertag in my sig) so heres my question, i heard you guys are gonna fix the dupe glitch but is this mean this can fix my world that corrupted because of the dupe.
Logically, I would imagine it would not fix the world because the world has already been corrupted and glitched out. I am 99.9% sure that if they fix the dupe glitch, it won't destroy any blocks duped prior to the update. Don't take my word on it, but I'm confident your world will still be corrupted.
Do you even know for sure that your world corrupted because of the dupe glitch? I doubt it. I've yet to see any specific proof that directly links the two together. What I've been seeing here is just a bunch of people guessing away at what MIGHT be a cause without providing a shred of real evidence to substantiate their guesses. It's been an ongoing discussion heavily rooted in varies prejudices regarding how different people play a game differently from other people. Solid proof for any of the accusations regarding duping has been completely lacking.
It is highly unlikely that your corrupted world save file (if it is truly corrupted) will be magically repaired. I admit that my knowledge of computers is somewhat limited compared to some others; but in my experience, It generally takes some sort of deliberate recovery program to repair a damaged saved file. I think it very likely that 4J's patch will be geared towards preventing people from duplicating items in this way in the future; not towards recovering corrupted game files... particularly when they may have corrupted for reasons other than duping.
From that tweet, they are patching the "dupe" glitch, but they haven't said if that would fixed corrupt worlds. We will have to see if the next update will help with corrupt worlds.
