If near an abandoned mineshaft, you can mine reources right from the mine... wood planks, web for wool, torches sometimes....

That's a good thin to keep in mind, but for the purposes of this guide;
A) It's a bit redundant if you've already built a supply base, and Mine shafts are rare enough that you shouldn't plan on scavenging supplies from them.
Also, you seem to have overlooked how valuabble the fencing can be to pillage as well.
I have played Minecraft on xbox 360 since the minute it came out and I tried to make something like this and it was a instant failure. It was an instant failure because I did my trees 4x4=to small. So on my wheat farm I put down my water in a more uniform manner, WITHOUT using ANY LIGHT there. So your guide really helped me relize how dumb I was at the time and I'm sure without a doubt you helped not only me but many others.
