And YES! The music is so boring, if i couldn't turn it off it would make me want to kill myself after that 2nd or 3rd hour. Mostly I listen to my own music, usually unicorn kid, his chip music makes great ambience for minecraft.

Without the skin... Beneath the storm... Under these tears...The walls came down
The only sound related thing that 4j should consider is making the music only play occasionally, like it does on the PC. Or at least to give the players the option to not loop the music.
I never grow tired of the sounds in minecraft and if I ever want a change in what i hear, I can always get my MP3 (Screw you Ipod haha), and listen to whatever songs I'm in the mood for.
I'm actually impressed with the little sounds in minecraft. If you jump over a torch, it makes a wood plank noise as you step on it. Dirt has different sounds when mined depending on the surface condition.
There's a ton of little effects that make me smile, so I'd love more. I am a fan of the following being added:

Monkeys (random Jungle biome) -I myself am not the biggest fan of larger animals such as monkeys making sounds but yet aren't visible. Now as for adding Monkeys into Minecraft, That would be pretty cool.
Wolves Howling (at midnight) -Wolfs are already in the game (Obviously) And I would love them to be more vocal. Good idea mate.
Frogs (random Swamp or Jungle biome) -I, again, would love this, Frogs are small enough to always make sound, but yet not be visible, and be acceptable.
Snakes (random hissing or rattle - Desert biome) -This might create a bit of unneeded paranoria and I don't really like this idea as much considering snakes aren't in the game and would be a bit weird for a snake sound to just come out of your ****, and not being able to see it at all. although, Adding snakes as an aggresive mob would be pretty awesome.
Wooo.... I like the ambient sounds when you're in cave under the ground, I hope 4J add them in a future update, and they're kinda creepy when you're alone
This would be pretty cool: Be able to put several discs in a jukebox (normal jukeboxes have multiple tracks lol) and have those added to the music loop!

Yeah, the monkey idea was mainly because I really really really want actual monkeys in the game.
The snakes idea was more because I think the desert biome needs something. Maybe beetles or a sand blowing sound instead?
I see this thread has died and I wanted to let it sit tight with everyone so I can get a wider array of people noticing this, hopefully a 4j member. I honestly would love this in Minecraft, with a setting to easily turn it on or off though. But yeah guys, please keep posting on this with new ideas as to how this would word and your opinion.

The wind should only occur 3-7 minutes apart, for 30 second intervals. ****-snakes would be funny. What about cicadas during the day, birds in the morning, crickets in the evening, and owls at night? That way, you could estimate about how much time you have left to build a shelter. Anyone know a thread for new doors/locks?

Thank you for your support, Dirty dan.
-p.s- Sorry for the double post. >_> Dunno why it didn't automatically put this comment in the one above.
When I think of wind I either think of a annoying looping track or a bad quality video with someone blowing on mic.
Exactly, Thank you for the support.
I just hope 4J can add the sounds bug free and integrate the sounds smoothly the first time around, if they do at all.
