So I have posted about this map a couple of times, the basic idea is a lord of the rings themed map. This is the first map I have ever played in any version of minecraft, it also happens to be the original tutorial world.
This is my Dwarf stronghold build, it takes up almost 1/4 of my map and when its completely finished I imagine will easily pass that mark.
There are 2 mountains, an underground stronghold and an above ground that includes the church and docks.
Inside the first mountain are plenty of houses and shop rooms, this was my first ever large build so I focused more on the building and design then the purpose. However it does include 2 mines and an outside square area.
Second holds the great hall and clock tower, trading market, inn/alehouse, keep, 3 hops and a lava lamp suspended by iron chain. The keep protects the only entrance into the stronghold from the second mountain, it is styled so you half to go up to the top then all the way down to the spiral staircase.
The cavern holds the forge, barracks, garrison, mine shafts, farm, brewery, alehouse, almost 30 dwarf homes, tunnels too the nearby hobbit village, and several vaults and storage facilities.
The church has a pretty radical roof design but I think it fits what a dwarf church above ground would look like. Inside the stronghold I tried to cut into the rock faces to build as much as possible, but built out to had design to couple complete builds. Most of it is unfurnished at the moment, but will be getting that finished soon.
My future plans are;
Stronghold
- Add more housing
- a iron or lapus tower underground
- more lava falls
- adjust the lighting with redstone wire and torches
- Add ore blocks to the mines(iron and gold)
Above Ground
-Add a gate and gate house
-another dock
- barracks and archery range
- statue
- a center town square area
- shops
-entrances to the under ground houses
- dwarf fleet
-Giant lapus/iron tower

How much of that cave did you hollow out yourself?
None, massive hollowed out caves just magically appear like that, don'tcha know? He probably did dupe, not sure how that makes a difference though. That just means he's a creative builder instead of a mindless trigger-holder. (The war continues! :P)
OP: I must say, that's one hell of a first map. Did you start this on the release date, or shortly after?

I played the map as a survival map for a while, didn't start this build until late July. I finished the first mountain in about a week then went onto build hobbit, wood elf, and human cities/villages/settlements.
The mountains were created by pouring water over lava.
Hello fellow imgurian Looks great tbh, id like to see more screeshots when you get the whole pic thing down(has something to do with facebook, not sure though)
That's because there really is nothing to explain. In minecarft, press start, press Y, & follow the on-screen prompts. It's not rocket science.
Yes. Start -> Y -> Spam the A button
Unless you actually care about the description. Which no one does, unless you have an FB page that people like just to look at your creations. Even if you did want a description, why would you enter it on the 360? Edit that ish on your facebook page, son!
Some people do, some people don't. But he definately duped as proved by the photos he provided (he has a glitched stack).
But I don't care about that too much. I have a "dupe world" and a "please don't dupe in this world and if I do you will be defriended (is that even a word?).
Edit: Also, that does indeed look like a decent build, but better photos would make it look much grander.
I do not know how to take screenshots, and have not found anyone who can explain it well
1)download the facebook app on your xbox and sign in with your facebook account
2)on minecraft press start then press y and upload it to facebook
3)go on facebook on your computer and just save the images from your pictures( it will make a new album called minecraft)
-3 TMS (Too Much Stone)
By the way, it is not that I have a problem with builds that were duplicated, but it gives them the ability to use all of the blocks currently in the game. Instead, you simply built 95% of it out of Stone and Cobblestone.
-1 Anyway, I can see that you must have placed some effort in the church, yet the hollow mountain is simply...a hollow mountain.
Since I am feeling very generous as of this moment, you get a 6/10.

What else would you recommend using in a Dwarf build? I'm starting to use more gold and iron blocks as highlights and decorations, out side of that the only really viable option I've found are the three stone based blocks we have now. I would love to use the stone bricks, slabs, blocks as well as the brick ones but they are not available yet. I agree it does look rather plain, suggestions are more then welcome!
UPDATE- Thanks to all the help I actually managed to figure out how to take screen shots!! I will update the thread with them later this evening
I would be glad to help!
Anything me or my friends could help with, consider it done!
IGN: (Dennis the cool) parentheses for showing only inside = name

Yours is good too though. But it definitely is hard to really see anything with those shots.

On topic: It look really good, man! I'd like to see more pics in the future. If you can take them in game, then better.
Keep up the good work!
