Been enjoying this wonderful game for a few days with a friend, really happy with what we've built and mined.
But today game is crashing whenever we go down a tunnel we built to bottom level. Its worked before no problems, I've tried using a minecart and walking down but it freezes everytime. I've done quite a lot of random mining without any problems.
I've tried going down a different tunnel and venturing out to the open map but it freezes aswell, seems it doesn't like it when I venture too far away from home. Tried staying at home doing nothing, waited 2 days no problem.
I've unsuccessfully tried refreshing my xbox 360 cache and searched the net for a fix.
Other games working fine.
If anyone can help will be kindly appreciated. Our world seed is -1294264240833116865.
We're almost sad thinking we can't continue building our home
Your game data might be damaged , have you tried deleteing game and redownloading and installing it , also when you clear cache make sure you clear both the hard drive and system cache , also check and see if you have any action machines moving or water or lava flowing sometimes the graphics accelerator gets over run and crashes game , some older xbox's have that problem , let me know if any of that helps , also if your duping it might cuase save data corruption depending on structure and timing
It's your world data. Something corrupted in that spot, and the game code is choking on it whenever it's asked to bring it into the picture. It's really a game bug. Bad data should not cause the game to crash, but to give you a garbled look or a hole where the blocks can't be rendered properly.
I've started a new world and so far its not crashed so agree its sth with that world.
If I delete/reinstall game will my save files still exist?
We only play offline split screen, all legit no duping or mods. Only thing that moves are a couple button controlled doors and a powered rail running down to bottom of mine.
Everything was fine before, would it help if I back tracked and removed the recent things I added?
This is unbearable. Now my second world has started freezing. Done some mining, built a small home and a boat, haven't used any redstone or rail tracks.
Thought I'd explore the whole map and when I go near the top left corner of map it freezes. Tried goin from the west, south and south-west, freezes all the same.
I've emailed 4j without a response. Feel like I'm gettin screwed here, yes its beta but if you pay for sth u expect it to work at least.
I'm not even too bothered about all the upgrades with forthcoming update, but does anyone know if they'll fix these game breaking issues?
This has happen to me on 5-6 separate worlds. You are not alone. A quick question? Did your Xbox throw a tantrum & freeze during gameplay? How old is your Xbox?
It seems my "chunk errors" started appearing after my console froze. Sent my console back in for a service & it hasn't happened again. I also do not keep my game save on my HDD. Cloud storage only. So I'm not sure what has fixed the problem.
5-6 worlds?!?! Ouch. That's a lot of buildings/mining KIA.
Didn't notice any problems before the freezing. Had no chunk errors or any other problems mentioned in bugs topic. Thought there was problems with redstone circuitry not working, but its probably my lack of wiring skill.
Xbox (slim) is only 1.5yrs old. Other games work fine (fallout 3, saints row, RDR), sometimes L4D2 freezes but rarely.
Hmm. That's the only reason I can think of as to what causes it. Like I said, It seemed mine all started after my console froze during gameplay. When I reboot, & head back in the same direction, I get to where the game previously froze & bam! freezes. Mind you, mine is a white launch console.
But yeah, I would try keeping your world ONLY on cloud storage & see if it helps. It's what I've done & I haven't had another problem since the last freezing issue in my last world. That was a few months ago now. All of those worlds only lasted a few weeks at the max. *touch wood*
Do you know how cloud storage works? It reserves an area on your HDD, where it still writes your save data locally, and syncs to and from the server using that. So you are still using the HDD actively, plus there's an entirely new layer of processing added in. If the game stops crashing when you switch to cloud storage, then I would guess the HDD has some bad sectors. The cloud cache is fine, but where you saved your data before using cloud storage is not. Replacing the HDD would be the best solution in such a case.

Anyone else having constant freezing issues?
