When it comes to playing single player, I prefer the 360 version because my computer has never been able to run minecraft all that well. And in my opinion, the 360 handles the game much smoother (But it's a shame that mobs lag like they do on SMP for the PC).
As for Multiplayer, I prefer the PC version because it has all the content of the xbox 360 version and more. I also prefer using the keyboard to chat.
Because SMP makes Minecraft more purposeful and can provide inspiration towards builds and techniques, I prefer the PC version.
I prefer the 360 Edition myself. I like the feel of the controller more than I do the keyboard and mouse for one thing. Plus, I just like game consoles more than computers.
Xbox has simplicity but I like variety, I just recently played PC version and the thought of texture packs endless worlds (people to play with)and all multiplayer content is making me reconsider what I thought about xbox

This.. and my computer can't handle minecraft all that well.
I personally can not really compare the two like that. I view each as their own style/game unto itself. Each has their own disadvantages and advantages. Also the Style of play is drastically different in each, and i am not talking about modes of game play I am referring to the interface mainly, but also a few other things that seem to be primarily in each when you don't add mods.
So I just like both equally for what they are as individual products.
The PE version I will probably never own.... more or less play. Just doesn't suit my fancy. That and i don't own something to play it...><

My First World, always getting back to is a pleasure I enjoy with each new update that brings in more things to add in.
I play on the 360, mainly because most of my friends are console gamers, but also because the one time i played on my buddy's PC i didn't care for the controls. i hate WASD with a passion! I really do.
That's true, but I like the choice of playing vanilla or not,I like different flavors for different days nothing against game play. Their both great platforms and have their pros and cons , like you said
Im 50/50 with the PC and Xbox (Though Xbox was my first introduction to Minecraft)
Xbox - Because of the Multiplayer factor (Unable to make the PCMulti work, still making on/off attempts)
PC - Because of the way you can add you own personal touchs to the game (custom skin and packs)
But if you can make and build landmarks and so and enjoy it on both, then they both win in my opinion

I have both and I just can't get into the PC game, while I can play for hours alone on the Xbox game. I've played 2 hours of PC, hundreds of Xbox. I think it's the version, I like 1.7.3 the most out of any version. It's sad that we'll be getting 1.8.2 so soon, but atleast we'll get Stone Bricks to compensate.
I don't own the PC version, but my friend's kids own all three versions; and the Xbox still seems to win out with all of us. A primary reason is that it has the local splitscreen, which is really nice for multiplayer games where the players can be together in the real world too. To see where another player is and what they're doing, we just have to glance over at the adjacent screen. We can talk and laugh with each other without the need for mikes or keyboards. Yes, it's missing some features the PC has at this point; but those are coming eventually. What's there right now runs pretty darned smooth most of the time.
I own both versions, PC and Xbox. I used to mainly play the PC version, however, I found I got kind of burned out/bored of it after a while. I think I felt this way because of all the things you can add with mods and whatnot, it kind of took away from the "original" feel of the game if you will. I do however like mods so don't get me wrong. It's hard to explain really. I do prefer the Xbox version though.
I can not lie, for some reason I do not work well with computer controls for games so the 360 is my choice. I own both and play both but I have only played the pc version twice.

yes, i know i can use a controller on my computer. and i do. but the controls don't work as smooth because it wasn't made for that.
