What he said, wasting iron on a minecart and 16 on a minecart and rails is a hassle. To do it with a piston make a friends step on a pressure plate next to the piston and make it so the piston will push the block into your head (put the piston above your head)

usually you would do this with a friend or splitscreen so you can know where to go
