Hello! I would like to hear this from the people directly so i made this topic. Why do people buy minecraft and complain about no creative mode? I mean i understand you want to build nice structures and houses etc., but why do some people ONLY want creative mode? On a real standpoint you could just buy Fortress Craft(which is 3$ but i don't like it) and have a creative mode ALL THE TIME. I would just like to know why people want it just for minecraft. Im talking about the people who don't even spend any time MINING OR CRAFTING. For god sake its the name of the game. So please let me hear your reasons.

lolwut?
@OP: I personally want it because mining is boring to me. I just want to build. Fortresscraft is great for mansions, castles, or whatever. But they don't have redstone, which is the only thing I play Minecraft for anyway.

Simple, I don't complain about not having creative mode; but I AM looking forward to getting creative mode in the very next update; and I will enjoy using it and not having to mine if I don't feel like it.
Also, if your allusion to the name Minecraft had any bearing on the issue... in Fortress Craft, all anyone would be allowed to build would be fortresses.
ETA: Really, all this dumping on Creative mode by the "Mining and Crafting" group is getting irksome.
Just suck it up and accept it:
1) Creative mode IS coming to the XBox;
2) It IS a legitimate way to play the game
3) Some people will enjoy playing the game that way
Please allow me to take this one. I am not playing minecraft until the update, and will likely only play creative once that is an option. I was disappointed that there was no mention that it would NOT be a part of the initial release, and felt a little cheated immediately after I bought it, but it is what it is.
To answer your question, there are a few of us that have discovered a new medium of expression. It's a little like ancient man discovering how to mix paint, and the fascination he must have felt when he doodled a deer on the cave wall. You see, I'm excited not for another 'game', but for a new way to express my creative side. I have plenty of 'games' at my disposal, I purchase more than I can finish. I have little interest in another resource gathering game, It's a familiar formula that I am no stranger to. I may be a bit older now, and adding a hunger bar or the ability to spawn mobs are just toys to keep the formula from getting stale for the minecraft gamers.
As a creative junky, I like to fly. I don't want to scavenge for materials on the ground like an animal; give me godlike powers and I'll show you what I can do in an hour. I'll build the statue of liberty or perhaps a giant earthworm, just to get a few laughs. I'll build a Space Shuttle or a Tank factory. While the masses have a hard time coming up with more than a few ideas that are unique, I cannot build fast enough to keep up with my imagination. Minecraft is my new paintbrush and while you are gathering blocks to add on to your house this weekend, (which I could duplicate in a matter of minutes), I'll recreate your favorite Call of Duty map beyond your expectations.
It's sometimes hard work, sometimes a grind, but I'd rather put 40 hours into a build and have an entire city to show for it than prestige in COD or aimlessly wander around within my game collection for a few more achievement points. I'm not on autopilot, I'm at a time and place in life where I'm making the most of my time and my talents, so please give me Creative mode and allow me to show off my creations without having to worry about griefers. Give me the ability to grant permissions to edit or not to edit, if you are listening fellow developers, and I promise to give you the moon (and a moonlander!).
I'll probably only use creative mode if I ever get a jonesin' for a huge build. Something that would require tons of easy yet tedious to acquire items, like large amounts of wool or wood. Or something that would require a ton of landscaping. Usually I work with stone-related blocks, but I never see cobblestone mining as tedious, I just mine down to layer 10 and tunnel, that way it feels more like I'm tunneling for valuable ore, and cobblestone is a happy by-product of that effort. But wood is a lot more tedious, because it either involves a lot of exploring to find a good junle, or it involves choppin' 'em down, replanting, bone meal, repeat. It's just not worth it to me.

You get out of it what you put into it. I get asked all the time how I do it, how can I just build whatever I want so easily. It's discipline. As for fun, I obviously would not play if it was not fun. I guess this is one of those 'if I had to explain, you probably would not understand' things. I get called a beast all the time though, took me a while to figure out what that meant.

This. I really don't feel like harvesting a 40x40 tree farm 10 times to be able to build a city.
I'm looking forward to this update because, quite frankly, this version of MC is getting a little stale for me. In my current world, I have over 300+ diamonds so I'm no stranger to mining. I have double chest after double chest of Redstone, sand, cobble, wool, food, mob loot and slimes. People could simply say "just start a new world and do it all over again". To that I respond with the fact that I have 8 different worlds on the go. It's always the same.
I want Creative mode because it's something fresh. If I come home after a long day at work and just feel like doing an epic build with unlimited resources, I'll have that option. If I feel like playing Survival and mine for hours on end, I could do that too. It's all about having more options in the way I play this game.
Im talking about the people who don't even spend any time MINING OR CRAFTING. For god sake its the name of the game. So please let me hear your reasons.
It's always the same. Survivalists don't understand creatives, and creatives bash on survivalists. It's a sandbox game, buddy. I don't care how it's called, there is absolutely no "correct way" to play it. If you want to fly and make huge builds, do it. If you want to play the survivalist way, be my guest. As long as you -the player- have fun, it doesn't really matter what other people think.
I don't quite think some of the people understood what im getting at. I wanted to now from people who ONLY USE CREATIVE MODE. I never said it's bad. I never said it was for children I just want to know why they never play survival or do anything else but creative mode.
Hope that clears things up a bit.

Lamentably, I'm obfuscated by both of your diatribes. Kindly elucidate.
