Regardless of what sort of little kid you were, how you felt about little kids when you were one is probably quite a bit different than how you feel about them right now. On the same vein, how you'll probably feel about them when you're quite old (like me) will be different yet again. Your first statement said it right. You can afford to have a bit of respect for the small ones; and you'll probably feel better about yourself in the process. They just need a little time to learn the game, the internet, and oh so much more.
