I had something similar happen to me a couple of days ago. Was playing offline with my wife, and all of a sudden I caught a glimpse of a sheep in a mine cart cruising by. I took off after it and sure enough, somehow a sheep had glitched with the cart, even activated powered rails as it rolled and everything, just like a player character!

i always see animals haha, saw a chicken about a week ago. seen a few sheep and a few more chicken. never seen a creeper though
Easy to achieve. Lure the mob near the minecart & punch the ******* into it. But I'm pretty sure If a mob is on the tracks when a cart comes past, the mob will be picked up by the cart. Can't remember.

animals/mobs anything can ride it o.o first time i saw this happen i shat my pants lol i was riding my minecart trying to get my achivement i failed i accidentaly pushed it and i didnt get on it THEN the sheep got into it i was like what the... then the i failed agian this time the zombie did it i was like wth? i was thinking Herrrrr but then my friend told me they do that. so o.o yeah
A bunch of wolves stole my girlfriends mine cart once. I didn't believe her until it rushed past me on the tracks a few minutes later.
I got a picture of a creeper that sneaked a ride up from my ravine. Apparently I picked the wrong method to remove him, as I spent quite a bit of time cleaning up all the destroyed chests bits. http://mcxphotos.com/gary.hughes.77920/funny/creeper-drive-thru
yeah his slime farm is huge. i would have been so mad if it didnt span them
Yeah it's huge, I can get stacks of slime there. More than I could even use. Most the traps and stuff I use it to just get my kills up for fun, it's funny to kill the monsters.
Just thought this was funny, first time I seen it happen. Anyone else seen this happen? Or is it really rare?
Like someone else, animals plague my carts. x_x I had an RNG powered by minecarts on loops, that I had to completely box in. If I didn't, animals would hop in the carts, speeding them up and making my T flip flops glitch out.
All mobs (yes, even Ghasts and slimes) can ride in a minecart

My friends and I had a pig ride a mine cart down through our mine once, we laughed really hard and named him Babe. Then poor Babe de-spawned after a while.

Little known fact, every single mob type is able to ride in minecarts. Yes, this includes ghasts,
wolves, squids... you name it. Especially the enderdragon and enderman.

Off topic: Nope. As with bf3, I'm sure there will be an open beta. The MoH beta access will just be early access. No need for it.
