ths is like a dream team, maybe you have the best individual players. but that doesnt mean they will make the best team. i like the concept. but there are a lot of great players who probably provide support. and inspiration to what we consider the most popular builders. i think if we get any of the guys on here we could make something awesome. maybe make small teams to work on each build. and thats from the design stage to the end stage. this may be better adressed if we do get the rentable servers. so we arent so limited with build time. remember not everyone on here is in the same time zone. hope this takes off. i got a few builds im pretty proud of. but id definetly be up for working on some big projets.
i like the idea, but. some people might not like it because now it sounds building clan-ish. i like the idea of a friends helping friends type of thing though, where we all just help eachother with these,. all someone needs to do is ask, and bam. 3 or 4 expirienced builders come in and get it done. unlike when you do a search to find people and there is a 1/5 chance of a griefer and a 3/5 chance of someone who will try and mess around, or has no usefull skill at all.
My world isnt that bad but. my specialty is Slime farms everybody goes to me atleast thats what i think Ive been helping people since 1.7 come out o.o ive helped tons of people.

well. i thought thats kind of what you were thinking. getting a bunch of great builders together to do somw great builds. i wouldnt say build clan. or ever use clan to describe anything. more like a team. like minded people working on projects designed by the team. and its more like 9/10 people ar greifers and 1/10 is a closet greifer. lol.
Cool idea. I wouldn't mind being a part of something like this. I'm not what you would call a "good builder" though... at least I don't think so. Not too sure honestly, I've never really tried my hand at the whole architecture thing.

Clan and team are the same thing. Don't be afraid of the word clan, it's not a bad thing. I have yet to figure it why clans are so taboo in MCXBLA when there are literally thousands of them on the PC version. If a group of people like building with each other, what does it matter if they call themselves a "clan" or "team" or "group of friends"?
Im pretty sure the PC guys think this game has barely any capabilities for things like this, but lets show them it does..
Why does it matter what "the PC guys" think? Any PC guy who's been around for about a year or a year and a half know exactly what the version we're in is capable of because they had more or less the exact same thing and the only thing holding this game back from things like this is the people that play it.
If you're going to do something like this do it because you want to, don't do it to try and prove something.

i dont think of it as taboo. clans are usually larger than say a team at least IMO. and tend to make it sound more serious. thats the only reason i stay away from it. plus on xbox they tend to be based more around competative games. mainly shooters. since we dont have WOW. i think it just seems out of place to the console players to hear clan to describe a group not playing Halo or battlefeild. i could care less honestly. though. im am from the south... not much good comes from clans down here, lol. but i see your point too nose. not a big deal what its called. tis only a word.
and for sure nose. you need to be involved, for your redstone contributions alone. since redstone and redstone devices can make a really cool large build even better.
EDIT: ahh. i see, my sentence got cut off, i meant wouldnt use it to describe anything not competative. but thats just my take on how people veiw clans on th xbox. which like you said makes no sense becuase the whole idea started with the PC and a lot of games like guild wars and WOW. and of course counterstrike and other shooters.

Clans don't have to be about competition necessarily. In fact, I used to play a game called Dead Frontier, where you could join a PVP-based group (clan) or a non-PVP group (guild). A building team in Minecraft would be the same thing as a guild in DF. Just a group of people more focused on helping each other out, as opposed to killing people.
A lot of people think of clans as a rather large community. But you have to remember, every clan started out as just one person. (Except in some games where you have to form a party, then go to some guy to start a clan and make your party the leaders of it, but that's not the point. Jesus christ, that was a long sentence.)
And I suppose you have a point, with the redstone and whatnot. I do like the idea of a world full of serious builders, less likely to mess with others' creations. Plus, even if someone felt the urge to grief, they probably wouldn't just to avoid gaining a bad reputation on the forums. It would be nice to build some epic creations in a multiplayer world. All of my serious builds I keep behind closed doors until they're finished, since my friends like to **** around all the time.
