Ok, let me start with a confession: I "grieved" a world today. Not grieved in the sense of destroying things, I grabbed up a stack of red brick and blocked a couple doorways and randomly placed it elsewhere in her world. Why? I am normally not a big fan of disrupting something that is hard-earned and hard-won, but the whole world was the result of duping and modding, and all openly admitted to by the worlds owner. Fair enough. So I placed my bricks and left. Nothing damaging, it will probably turn into an Easter egg hunt of sorts and be fun in the long run.
Then the real kicker sets in: I get a message: "Why the H did you grief my world, maan, I worked so hard! I spent like WEEKS on it!"
Stop it. Please.
Let me break this down: I have no clue how mods work for the 360, I have been in and RESPECTED many peoples worlds and this is the first modded one I've seen, but since the host admits it I will call it that. What I do know is that the "weeks" that go into a modded world like this one, are all just a drop in the bucket compared to some of the real works I've seen, ours included. It has taken me, my wife, and my little brother better than SIX MONTHS to work up, and the town is still only half finished, if that, and the GIANT to-bedrock hole that the castle will go IN is only half finished. We have a bank with an 11 lever combination lock to open a double-thick obsidian vault. "Man-made" floating gardens, art gallery, mayors house, the list goes on and on, and NOT ONE CHEAT was used in it.
A great man once said "If something is worth doing, it is worth doing right!"
These are good words to live by. Cheats, mods and hacks take the game completely away from what it is originally meant to be. I mean, if this games creators wanted it like this they would probably just call it "Craft" or "Build".
Bottom line, don't do it like that. I mean come on, seriously, build something impressive on your own. Don't be fake
Duping isnt cheating, so dont start another argument thread. i you build legit, good for you. but dont get mad at us for it because we take advantage of a "pre creative mode"
Mods. What makes you think it was a mod? unless you saw bedrock and stuff all over, then you have no idea what you are talking about. if they mod, just leave the game. dont mess up there stuff, because they still have weeks of time spent on their world.
and your statement on "craft" or "build"... Thats what creative mode is. so basicly in that, we sont gather materials we just build.. and unlike the glitch, that was ACTUALLY put in the game by developers on pc, so yes, it can be a game of just building

the game to give that player infinite blocks. Mods, or modifications. change the game and
are usually downloaded from another source and aren't found within the game.

Placing is building... There are tons of things on the computer made in creative mode by "placing" is the same as building.. and actually, it requires more skill of the game if you dupe or use creative. More blocks to use means bigger structures, which take longer.. you can build better things...

Throughout the entire course of events, you express your opinion on why you dislike this duplication glitch. The solution for all of this (without starting an uproar) is to either accept your friends' exploitations or avoid these bugs in entirety. If your stance is so strong as if it could never change, I am sure no one in the right mind would have a problem; just choose the latter option!
If you want to get an insightful view of "dupers," take into mind the book To Kill a Mockingbird. The underlying lesson is to be empathetic. Most people (especially ones with jobs) think it is silly to waste their time holding down RT. More things can supposedly be accomplished, however, with unlimited resources.
Do not think that I am a user of this glitch, though! We share the same affinity. I still strongly appose it, yet different reasons guide my beliefs. Overall, I think both parties here are only showing apathy.

Well, if your going to be a ****... Those are the only materials you have that there is enough in the world to build megabuilds with. and talentless? wow. So what? duping is a short cut. Im pretty sure youv'e taken shortcuts in life buddy. look around, the world is full of them.

IT MAKES THINGS POSSIBLE, by making more of the items that there isn't enough to build things like this wothout duping. i used iron blocks as a mix on a building, i can garuntee that the whole world doesn't have enough iron to even build it legit. So Duping just takes it to the next level.
