Hello, so i'm thinking of starting an RPG game based of the concept of Dwarf Fortress.
If you are not familiar with Dwarf Fortress it follows a simple premise, you and your band of dwarves must build a fortress and deal with the ever constant threat that one small thing will ruin all your hard work... but hey losing is fun!
Each player would be assigned a job and given other tasks to ensure the fortress can sustain itself.
The jobs would range from... Lumberjack, miner, hunter/militia, engineer and farmers/fishermen.
the difficulty would initially be placed on easy but very well could be raised as time passes.
This is still in the idea phase so if anyone else is seriously interested let me know.
Seems like a cool idea, I love dwarf fortress, but it seems like it wouldn't really be the same. I mean we could dig into a mountain and set up an entrance with traps. But I mean, where's the drunk dwarf craftmen who go crazy and make beautiful objects? Where's the threat of titans knocking at your front door, or tearing you usunder from the inside because you dug too deep? Where's the snotty elves with their dickish demands that make you wanna axe them in the face?
Man, now I really wanna go play dwarf fortress...

DF wouldn't translate to Minecraft very well, honestly. DF is much, much deeper than Minecraft, as an RPG. It would still be a cool idea to base an RPG server on though, but it's not going to become anywhere near a recreation of DF. Also, this doesn't need to be moved to Find Players, as it's only an idea at the moment.
I remember the good ol' days, when Dwarf Fortress, ADOM, Nethack, and other rogue-likes ruled RPG gaming. They still are better than a lot of the newer RPG's, imo. *cough*FABLE*cough* Hell, I still play on MUD servers every once in awhile.
