I have a theory of how things are going to go down in the future. Now bear with me, this is in my opinion very likely to happen. I'll be listing a couple different possible theories.
IF THINGS GO THE WAY THEY'RE GOING:
1.8.2 released. Fans rave about it and it's all over youtube, twitter, facebook, etc. It's all the hype and MC360 gains some respect. After weeks, fans are satisfied, though there may be numerous bugs implemented, fans ignore them and continue their journeys.After some time has passed, 4J releases the bug fix. As more and more weeks go bye, along with skin pack and update threads still very much alive, 4J releases info on skin pack 3. They release skin pack 3, and now all the hype is 1.2.3. Let's head a little further into time when 4J releases 1.2.3. We'll assume that 1.4 for the PC edition is either out or coming very soon. This update puts MC360 further behind. Now 1.2.3 is active, everybody loves it, and still, people are wondering what 4J will do next. This is when 4J releases the rest of the skin packs, makes texture packs, and focuses on exclusive content and DLC. As time passes, we develop a huge community, and have exclusive content that is not available on PC (unless PC users make mods, which is very likely to happen. This puts some flaws into my theory, but everything said is still possible). I assume 4J will release another large set of skins and focus more on fan requests and DLC.Another prediction I have is that Jeb and 4J develop a bit of a friendly rivalry and begin to see who can add the best exclusive material. As most of you know, the new snapshots coming out on PC are adding a whole bunch of content from carrots, potatoes, witches, controllable pigs, bats (the first flying mob in MC besides ghasts), the ability to dye armor, etc. I think 4j will add similar things. For example, a lot of the community wants them to implement back packs and and a large amount of them wants them to add worms that tunnel through blocks underground.
A NEW XBOX IS RELEASED:
Let's assume this new xbox is a LOT more advanced, having all of the features that the xbox 360 lacked, such as specs and performance. 4J ports the game onto the new xbox (I very much doubt they will make an entirely new Minecraft). This gives 4J the chance to add all of the features they couldn't on 360. These features consist of larger worlds, increased player size, everything considered impossible on the 360.4J goes the same way as in my previous theory, and decides to add a lot of exclusive content and DLC.

It sounds like some things could happen. Having 4j and Jeb in competition would be nice because they would come up with great new ideas to put into the game.
As long as they keep rolling out updates and keeping features from newer pc updates and mixing in new ones, I will be happy.

I agree with most of your ideas. Honestly, I really hope you're right because all of these things sound awesome! Also, I think it's very probable that this will happen.
Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition certainly has a future as bright as that of the original Minecraft. I look forward to owning both. I think Minecraft is going to be even bigger than it already is!

i play both PC and Xbox but unless we get some multiplayer servers i see pc winning my heart hands down.
MC is a nice game for building and stuff but multiplayer is the way for games these days.
i would love servers and some kind of thing like lockette or something to stop griefers.
bf3 managed to make servers and i think it would be a nice option for people .
I would consider this one of the ideas 4J wanted to include into xbox. They already
brought it up and are now considering it. I really hope they get BF3 style severs.

I just checked it out, and that whole website blew my mind. We really need to stop all this
polluting and make some changes or some serious **** will hit the fan by 2100. It really makes you
think doesn't it? We have all of this 'green' tech, and why aren't we using it?
Wait.... Does that means that after 1.2.3 they will make their own direction? Like releasing exclusive content, mods, things like that as DLCs?? well, that's cool but we won't get anything after 1.2.3 from the PC version I guess (like emeralds, enderchests, trading with villagers)....Correct me If I'm wrong!

They're still going their own direction, but that doesn't mean they won't use some inspiration from PC Minecraft ("Hey, corner stairs look cool! We should put them in with our next update on the Xbox as well!")

Now, this could be totally coincidental, OR it could mean the 1.8 update is going to be on 9/28/12. Remember, this is just my opinion. DON'T freak out and call me a f*cking moron.
