Here is m Nether fortress. Is there any way to keep the pigmen from spawning inside of it? Seems to happen rather regularly. I'll be going from one side to the next and will run into them. Usually just one or two but enough to make my heart beat a little faster. I'm planning on expanding it out more to increase the availability of killing the pigmen. (Which was most entertaining an fun!)

I didn't even know there was a Nether Fortress coming in a later update.
If you make the floor half slabs, they will not spawn. That's the only way I know of that looks halfway decent.
I'll give that a try, thanks! There is nothing more disconcerting than realizing you are not safe in your "safe" place.

Nice build 4DA! I can see why your daughters would feel minuscule compared to you in minecraft. haha
My daughters LURVE my builds. They like nothing better than to play in them and feed all the pork chops to their wolves. LOL My son, on the other hand, is (apparently) ruined on MC. I am not good for his ego.
This build is all function with little form. I needed it to reach out to the pigmen heavy areas and allow me to shoot them from above while protecting me from ghasts. I might clean it up as I learn more about hunting in the Nether. lol

I still looks cool. Though I dislike pictures from the Nether because they're always so dark and hard to see on my TV.
Hostile mobs also do not spawn on glass. Take that as you will.

My most ambitious projects have been making a lighthouse and a tower. Need to think of something bigger to try making some time.
