dear 4-J. we all know that creative mode will be here soon. but how about crafting up some mob spawners? you know... the little cages with the spinning thing on fire? yea sure, we can find them in caves, but we can't mine/pick them up. why not? their there for a reason, right? why not let us be able to pick them up? or heres hoping that we will soon have the option to put them in ourselves, in creative mode.
I'm pretty sure they're not even available legit in the PC version, so I doubt they will add them in the 360 version, but they did say that they will be going their own way with the future updates, so who knows?

Don't quote me, but I think you can only get the pig spawner that way. Just like in creative mode.
I think the only way to actually pick up a mob spawner is to copy & paste with MCEdit. You probably can with WorldEdit too, but I'm not sure.
It's because of the extra data along with the block, right? Although this doesn't make sense really, it sorta is similar in a way:
It's the same reason you can't pick up a full chest and place it somewhere else with the same contents. It's because that block where it is placed has extra data that can't be moved or stored with the way the inventory system works.
Which is why the spawners only spawn pigs when moved.
How would one craft a spawner?????? (i know creative COULD place one) but, the question was CRAFT A Spawner.......... Maybe Silk Touch a Mob and Iron Bars around the edge???? It just wouldn't work. Just speculating the recipe..... It would be cool for builds but, finding one is more exciting IMO.
Being able to craft mob spawners would be far too overpowered. If you really want to use a spawner trap, you should just find a dungeon and make a trap from that. I think it would be a much better idea for 4j to add the different mobs in spawners through creative mode (Which btw, is something that's not even in the PC minecraft without the spawner GUI mod.)
Why would you want actual spawners anyway, when you can just make your own mob spawner?
My guess would be if you wanted to make some sort of dungeon and replicate something like the mineshafts or strongholds with the spawners being a part of it.
I don't think we should be able to craft spawners. If we could, it would make finding them in dungeons insignificant. It would be nowhere near as fun and rewarding as exploring for one when you can just make one whenever you want.
That's just my opinion anyway.
