When 1.8 comes out, I'm going to be making a copy of skyblock (By using creative mode and a LOT of tnt) and there were 2 things that concerned me that I wanted to make sure of before I started such a large project.
1) If a player (Most likely just me since there's no way to share maps at the moment) were to fall off the map and into the void, will they spawn on 1 specific block, or is it like smp on the PC where you can spawn within a specific radius?
2) I know that lava can't be placed near spawn but will I be able to destroy bedrock near spawn? (Although, come to think of it, if lava can't be placed near spawn, I guess that'll make getting a cobblestone generator running much more irritating if I have to build it away from spawn. Why did 4j have to put this feature to babysit us... They could've at least just made it a warning instead of flat-out not allowing us to do so.)

and just place it at the edge of the spawn so lava can be placed
