Seriously 4J, we should have the option to turn this crap on/off. Since we can only join our friends games, why is even in place? If you have friends that would troll their spawn with lava, then you should consider getting some new friends.
An option to enable lava around the spawn would be great. When people join your world, you could have a pop-up saying "This world has lava around spawn enabled, join at your own risk". Maybe even a symbol(lava bucket) next to the persons game in the join game section to show it's enabled. Just because others might us it to troll people, does not mean I should have to go without using lava around my bloody house. "That's your fault. Why build your house so close to the spawn?" Because that's the way, uh-huh uh-huh, I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh.
Yes, I know it's disabled around the spawn area for a reason, but thanks to it being so, I can't use lava to light up areas around my house. Or use it for lava fountains/features. Pathetic if you ask me.

Oh no wonder why when I first started my original world Lava would despawn... -.- What was awesome about the spawn area is that It took me 10 hours to build what I had and just because I wanted a lava fountain it wouldn't work... and I don't know the seed for this map as I'd like to use it in the next update.
True, I think it would be nice to have an option to disable/enable it for certain players. But I also see the possibility of killing people at the spawn with lava if this happened. I think it would be good if it was an online game for only the host to be able to place lava near the spawn.
Though, you do spawn right next to the area if it has an issue. What's to stop people to but nether rack there and light it on fire? =P I mean I did, and I spawned right next to it instead of in the original spawn area. It's like Nether portals. You break it in the outer world while others are still in the nether (done it many times when we were griefing each other) and it would spawn a new portal either next to it, or a few inches from it.
Well, if they allow lava, then there needs to be a solution to get a player out of an endless cycle of lava related death. I haven't placed lava near the spawn ever, so does it not allow it in a certain radius? I would think that as long as any sort of lava does not occupy that one block that would be reasonable.

I think the Spawn radius is 32 blocks or something close to that.

You would think after the first time you die at spawn you're going to leave the game & remove the person from your friends list. & as I said, if you have people on your friends list that would do that, then it might be time to reconsider why their even on your friends list.

My point was being people that do this unintentionally or something and then can't figure out why they keep dying over and over and have no way out of it because they can't spawn anywhere to fix it. Of course, you can just quit and unfriend someone or whatever.
lol True, but to me, you've got to be down right retarded to not know you're being burnt by lava. The bright orange screen kind of gives it away. That, & the "oh uh uh" sound Steve makes.

From my experiences i know that THE spawn in the Xbox Version is'nt Just One but you can respawn on. 2-3 coordinates. I think that THE game Just have 1 spawn and Add an option to able/disable

4J knows people are assholes and would have abused being able to put lava at he spawn. So they stopped that from happening. In time, it will probably be changed.

Sad, but true. It's a shame that a handful of people ruin it for the rest. Especial the people that don't even play multiplayer. I can only hope they consider giving us an option to disable it. For now, I guess I'm just going to have to build a little distance away from spawn. Shame really, I always find the best plot of land directly at/around the spawn. Been that way for every single one of my worlds.
I agree that it's silly to limit the HOST of a server, on their own Xbox, in terms of where they can place Lava. The game isn't stupid enough to spawn a player ~directly into Lava~ (it shuffles you a few blocks over, I've seen it happen, when I mined down to the Lava flow under my spawn point)... OR directly inside of blocks (which has caused an instance of spawning ~on top~ of the build limit).
And it wouldn't be so bad if the game limited your Lava use to Layer 60+ on the map... but no, it goes all the way down to Bedrock (I wanted to preserve a nice Lava pool under my spawn, and accidentally plopped a Glass block one block too far down, and disrupted the natural flow). So annoying.
It annoys me to no end, that people who go out of their way to grief others, or abuse the system, always have to ruin it for those of us who just want to have fun.
I think as long as the spawn inventory bug exists, it is prudent that the restriction stay in place. As it is, anyone can wind up back at there original spawn point at any time they exit the game, which could bring about a catestrophic end to a person's world if they find themselves suddenly spawning in a newly created lava pool.
I do agree that the size of the area is currently too large though. A single chunk (16 x 16) should be more than adequate.

Exactly. If I had known this restriction was In place when the game first released, I would have stuck with the PC version & saved myself 1600mp.
