hello everyone, just a question. Are they gonna implenent cave ambience sounds on 1.8.2 on minecraft?
I don't know why they were never in the game in the first place. I believe Mustache_Guy said that they were bugged on the PC Multiplayer, which is why we dont have it.
That was would be awesome and add so much to the already pretty scary experience of venturing through a cave... I could see how it would be hard to implement though, sort of.

Nah, I play on solo on the PC a lot, and every time I find a mineshaft or stronghold, disk 13 or 11 plays. First few times it startled me, but after that i'm like "meh"

Why would it be hard to implant? How do you think they added music disk sounds? Or regular sounds? Or background music? It is a very simple code actually
Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.

That they were. They didn't play on PC Multiplayer until 1.2 when Minecraft was switched to the Anvil format. So I would assume it will be the same for us since the Xbox 360 Edition constantly runs a server.

Randomly generated caves spawned in a world with sounds to go with it, So does that mean if you replicate a cave yourself the game would automatically place that Cave noise with that? Would it have to meet a certain criteria for the sounds to start?
If it's such a simple code how would Mojang not be able to add it in the game free of faults?
Obviously just adding a soundtrack into a game is very simple, but to have a certain sound go with a certain amount of blocks is not as simple I imagine.

Yes, it does.
Minecraft Wiki: Ambiance
For ambient sound to play, the game requires a space of only 1x1x1 blocks (but the noises will play more likely in larger spaces) positioned 10 - 20 blocks away from the player in any direction, and completely filled with a light level less than eight without any lighting from the sky (the ambiance will more likely play from the direction of lower levels because of a lower light level). The space does not need to be sealed off - a sound can even play from a space that the player can actually see - nor does the player need to be underground to hear it. The sounds can also come from player-created spaces, even if that space is a box above the clouds.
