There will be no prizes for any of the contests I will be holding.
I just received an infraction for hosting a giveaway, even though I only said I may be looking into, and the competition hadn't even started yet. I even stated I would check with Microsoft staff and an admin of this forum before offering prizes. Obviously, a certain moderator didn't even give me the chance to do that.
I just wanted to say there won't be any prizes for those that place highly. I hope people are still interested with the only prize being to join the ranks of the redstone elite, and being glorified as a redstone engineer.

Wow....thats all i really have to say about that. Anyway, I know i am very interested still, and I havent stopped brainstorming since you brought it up!
What? You mean that people are actually suppose to read?! That is quite honestly the dumbest reason I have heard for getting some sort of mark against you. You even said no prize for the first competition, which is exactly the situation we are currently in: the first comp.
Well, regardless, I am still interested and wouldnt mind showing off what I have accomplished so far... sadly, the best devices I can come up with currently are doors. And while doors are not big feat, they are the most common and desired form of red stone work that I have gotten requests for.
I suppose the best you can offer is recognition as a redstone engineer, after all. Hopefully you still have the same interest in it now that there is no (monetary)prize.

I don't think the issue is with MS, here. Only the fact that giveaways/contests with "real" prizes being run by users are against the rules on this forum. However, since you didn't EVEN start such a contest, I would contact someone.

DON'T:
Bump Threads - Do not bump threads to get more replies or reply to older threads that have dropped off unless there is significant new information to add.
Spam - TL;DR, +/-1, one word responses, memes, imageposts, doubleposts, large quotes, etc.
Reply to Flames or Spam - Just report them
Post in the Wrong Section - We have specific sections to make things easier to find
Post server or player black lists - This has been used in the past to hurt innocent people
Trade or sell Minecraft accounts, this is a forum not a market place. This goes for other digital or physical products too, unless otherwise stated in a section specific rule list.
Post Giveaways - User-run giveaways or contests for prizes with monetary value are not allowed
Troll/Flame - See "Be Polite" above. Insulting and baiting will not be tolerated.
Troll Call - Calling someone a troll is a form of insult and will be treated as such.
Advertise - You can have a link to your personal (non-commercial) site in your signature. Any other links promoting outside websites or merchandise will be removed.
Post Redundant Threads - Be aware of other threads in the forum, and don't duplicate (see "Use Search" above).
Misuse Money Linking Sites - Don’t use sites such as adf.ly for anything other than downloads of your own content. You must also always abide by the services TOS.
Post hoaxes - Deliberately posting false information. (For example, Herobrine sighting claims).
Create Multiple Accounts - If you have a good reason for having a clone account, contact a staff member first.
Those are the rules, and according to those rules I have done nothing wrong. Honestly an infraction is no big deal to me, it's only my second offense. What I do have a problem with, is someone on a power trip. I've been screencapping my conversation with this person, and if this ridiculous accusation persists I'll be contacting an admin.
EDIT: Nevermind, everything is good and we've gotten it all ironed out.
As of now, I'll be the only judge. After the first contest I will probably message a few people and ask if they would be willing to judge. Pretty much anyone with a truly outstanding creation will be eligible.
