So, In the the video released the other day, within the first few seconds you can see the guy kill a creeper with an iron sword with ease. From my knowledge of the Xbox Minecraft, it is very hard to do that with an iron sword. So this has led me to believe that maybe 4J has fixed the radius in which the creeper will explode. Either that or whoever was playing is an absolute legend. (Could be both) I think they may have finally fixed the creepers. What's your thoughts on this?
The person in the video was me so I'm going with Absolute Legend on this one.
Nothing has been changed to Creepers though, never had an issue killing them.

Religion, has actually convinced people, that there's an invisible man, living in the sky, who watches everything you do every minute of the day, and the invisible man has a special list. Of 10 things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do ANY of these ten things he has a special place, full of fire, and smoke, and burning, and torture, and will send you there to suffer and choke and scream for all of eternity... But he still loves you.
I just killed a few last night with an iron sword. I was trying to find where mobs were spawning underground near my spawner, and I found an epic cave system. (Dammit . . .) What I do is smack the green annoyance with the sword then back away until it stops "hissing". Rinse and repeat until dead (or until I cut it too close and it blows up in my face). My diamond sword was elsewhere, or I would have used that, or a bow maybe.
They are annoying as hell, particularly because they mess up the world when they blow up. I so hate that.
I never have problems killing creepers either, but with an iron sword I usually have to do the whole hit once, back up than hit 2 times trick. 4JSteve did it like a champ Just a quick just 3 hit and they're done. Which led me to believe this. Thanks for the clarification.
You want to nerf creepers? It only takes 3 hits and when enchanting comes out...
I didn't say they need to be nerfed. I am saying they are unlike the PC version. Sometimes on the xbox creepers will be like 5-6 blocks away and still blow up. On the PC version you only need to back up like 2-3.
Actually I have been wondering if there isn't a disparity here that's similar to the "you can drown above water" problem that has been described as "The client reports you above water while the server sees you below it" or similar words.
The lag within my own single player games is not game breaking but it seems significant enough that the screen could be showing me the creeper some distance away while the game itself believes I am quite a bit closer to it. I've also been having a lot of situations where they seem to explode quite close to me yet I take minimal damage despite having no armour on.
Though I expect that is because I am a ninja.
I'm the opposite. I often die with a surprise creeper explosion from behind with full health and wearing armor. :'(
I guess I need to seriously brush up on the ol' creeper elimination skills. I've never had much success with an iron sword. Seems like they always blow up before I can get 3 hits in..I've pretty much always stuck the the three arrows and a sword strike to get them.
